aspects of Byzan-tine history and culture. Two items fromUniversity
of Michigan collections will be
discussed in papers given at the conference: the smaller oftwo
fragments of an early papyrus roll with a later Byzan-tine codex
(Ms. 50).
Graduate students giving papers at the Byzantine
StudiesConference who do not reside in the area of the
conferenceare entitled to partial reimbursement of travel
expenses.
