The 11th Middle East Jewellery of the Year Awards:

For the 11th successive year, the Middle East Jewellery of the Year Awards was given

on 23 November 2015 evening at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay.

Hosted by Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine and held under the patronage of His

Excellency Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani the Bahrain Minister of Industry, Commerce and

Tourism, the Awards serve to recognize and reward the best jewellery and fine writing

instrument brand performers across 15 different categories.

The five-day show attracted 48,717 buyers from 53 countries. Overseas visitors

from Saudi Arabia – the region’s single largest jewellery market – increased by a

massive 3.5%, yielding a total visitor share of 32% These included High net worth

private collectors, General public, Wholesalers, Dealers, Importers, Jewellery

designers, Retailers, Retail Chain owners, Agents, Distributors, Procurement

professionals

The 24th anniversary edition of Jewellery

Arabia 2015 was inaugurated on 24th

November 2015 at 10:00 am by HIS

ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE KHALIFA

BIN SALMAN AL KHALIFA; Prime

Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain in

the august presence of all the dignitaries

from across the world. Indian

Ambassador at the Embassy of India in

Bahrain His Excellency Alok Kumar

Sinha attended the inauguration

ceremony.

HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS declared the

show “Jewellery Arabia 2015” open and

welcomed over 600 exhibitors from 30

nations, 9 Country Pavilions with large

national group from India, Hong Kong,

Thailand, Italy, UAE, USA, Lebanon etc.

Report on the India Pavilion

Overview

Spread over a significant 840 square metres of exhibition space, the Indian pavilion

showcased exquisite craftsmanship and jewellery collections comprising of high-end

diamond jewellery and fine jewellery.

Also on display were studded gold jewellery, designer handmade jewellery, bridal jewellery

and exclusive pieces. For the Middle East market, Indian participants focussed on

jewellery with colour stones, sapphires, emeralds, rubies and solitaire diamonds. This

year, the Indian Pavilion was showcased in the Main Entrance Hall and Hall 2.

A separate promotional stall of 12 sqm in Hall – 2 was provided to GJEPC and was

manned by Shri Tarun Ray, Asst. Director – Delhi, Shri Pranabes Hazra, Manager –

Exhibition (Delhi), Shri. Kedar Belwalkar, Manager Logistics, (Mumbai)

The GJEPC officials ensured that the requisites of the exhibitors and their booths /

furniture / fixtures were adequately provided before the start of the exhibition.

Promotional Activities Done by GJEPC for Jewellery Arabia 2015

The GJEPC promotional booth was located in Hall No. 2 Booth No. 1042. The promotional booth was used to provide information about GJEPC and also for distributing Exclusive Flyer of India Pavilion, Solitaire magazine, Sparkle of Success, Promotional bags to the visitors of the show and also used for promotion of VOD.

Major Promotional banners were placed at a strategic location to promote India Pavilion.

Following promotional measures were undertaken by GJEPC to promote the India

Pavilion at Jewellery Arabia 2015:

· Exhibitor Catalogue giving details of the exhibitors of India Pavilion

· Promotional Bags

· Promotional Posters incorporating the Exhibitors name and the Booth No.s

· Exclusive Design for India Pavilion

· Mass e-mailing to the trade buyers in UAE inviting to visit the India Pavilion.

· Sponsorship of Banner Advertisement

· SMS- SMS were sent to all the visitors in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain

(in Arabic) which loudly spoke about the mega scale of the India Pavilion and the

jewellery displayed.

· One Model – A model with an Indian Attire wearing exhibitor’s jewellery moved

· around the exhibition halls on all the days of the exhibition

· One Hostess

Visit by His Excellency Alok K. Sinha, Ambassador of India to Kingdom of Bahrain

to India Pavilion on 26th November 2015

His Excellency visited India Pavilion and the

Jewellery Arabia 2015 show on the third

day. His Excellency was given a grand

welcome by GJEPC officials at the

promotional booth and also by Regional

Chairman, Northern Region Shri. Anil

Sankhwal

Thereafter His Excellency was escorted and

taken around the show by the Regional

Chairman along with GJEPC officials. His

Excellency interacted personally with the

Indian exhibitors about the business

conversions; visitor footfall, business

projections, market trends etc. He was very

happy to learn that such a large contingent

of Indian Exhibitors have come to Bahrain to

show case their creativity, he was very happy

to see a large variety & designs of Gems &

Jewellery being displayed at the show.

Regional Chairman North handed over a small memento to His Excellency.

In addition to the dignitaries visiting India Pavilion, Shri Om Prakash, Second Secretary

(Commerce), Shri Anand Prakash, Second Secretary (Political) also visited the show and

the Indian Pavilion and appreciated the efforts of GJEPC in organising the show.

Major Important Meetings

1. Meeting with Ambassador of India, H E Alok Kumar Sinha

Shri Tarun Ray, Asst. Director, RO – Delhi visited His Excellency’s office on a courtesy call

at Blgd No – 182, Road 2608, Area 326, Ghudaibiya, Post Box – 26106, Manama,

Kingdom of Bahrain. Shri Tarun Ray was welcomed by Embassy staff and guided to His

Excellency’s office.

Shri Tarun Ray briefed His Excellency about GJEPC’s organising India Pavilion at

Jewellery Arabia 2015 with 58 exhibitors and invited him to visit the show and India

Pavilion. His Excellency informed that he would try to visit and meet the exhibitors during

the show and take briefs from the exhibitors about their experience.

His Excellency was provided with the Show guide of India Pavilion and other booklets

(Media kit) of GJEPC.

The courtesy call ended with thanks to His Excellency.

2. Meeting with Ms. Susan Lee, Project Manager, Overseas Exhibition Services Ltd, organizers of Jewellery Arabia

GJEPC officials met up with with Ms. Susan Lee, Project Manager; to discuss about the Show, the India Pavillion location and other details 3. Luncheon Meeting organised by Mohamed Sajid, Chairman, Jewellery Association

of Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain The Luncheon Reception under the patronize by H.E. Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Kingdom of Bahrain and organised by Mohamed Sajid, Chairman, Jewellery Association of Bahrain was held on 25th November, Wednesday, 12 noon, at Grand Ambassador Ball Room, Diplomat Hotel and Spa, Diplomatic Area. Mohamed Hussain Malim, Treasurer of Jewellery Association of Bahrain welcomed Shri.

Anil Sankhwal, Regional Chairman – North & Shri. Tarun Ray, Asst. Director – North for

the luncheon meeting.

Meeting with Mr. Marcus, Head of Local Sales Department, City Neon, Bahrain

The GJEPC officials in their meeting with City Neon discussed about the Stall Construction and Logistics; and also communicated the exhibitor’s feedback about the stall construction.
