WELCOME TO POAC 2019 Since its inception in 1971 in Trondheim, Norway, the International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions (POAC) has been held every two years in different locations across the world. The conference aims to tackle unique ice-related problems applicable to coastal and offshore engineering in the Arctic and Antarctic. The conference serves as a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas between national and international organizations, industries, research institutes and individuals working on ice engineering, and has gained a loyal following over the years.

ABOUT THE VENUE Delft University of Technology is proud to welcome POAC to the Netherlands for the first time. The city of Delft with its tree-lined canals, charming buildings and rich history is sure to provide a delightful setting for the conference. The venue for POAC 2019 is the Aula Conference Centre at the heart of the TU Delft campus. The venue is at a 10 minutes walking distance from Delft Centre and only 5 minutes from Delft Central Station by bus. In turn, Delft Central Station is easily accessible by trains from all major Dutch cities and airports.

VISA INFORMATION Participants who require a visa to enter the Netherlands are responsible for their own visa application. Any useful information regarding the visa application process is found at https://www.netherlandsandyou.nl/. If required, a formal invitation letter is available through the local organizing committee upon request.

ACCOMMODATION Accommodations are abundantly available in and around the historic centre of Delft. Next to booking any one of these accommodations, participants can use the online portal that will be available on the POAC 2019 website to book a room at one of the accommodations across Delft that are reserved for POAC 2019.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The 25th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions (POAC) will be hosted by the sections Offshore Engineering and Dynamics of Solids & Structures at Delft University of Technology. The ice engineering themes that will be considered during POAC 2019 include ice-structure interaction, Arctic navigation and icing, effects of climate change, ISO19906, offshore wind developments, ice-induced vibrations, results from Polar expeditions and many more.

REGISTRATION AND FEES Next to access to the conference venue and the scientific program, the registration fee includes a technical tour, the icebreaker party, lunch and the conference dinner.
