Faithful Navigator’s Message:
Fellow Sir Knights,
As I write this letter, it seems like the world that we know is closing in around us.
We have had our churches shut their doors and our meetings and groups cancelled.
But we still have our faith and we will prevail and win!
Lent is continuing; we fast and pray, now more then ever.
Palm Sunday is April 5th
, just a week away and then Easter! Time has flown by and so much has changed.
Please keep all the sick and those recovering from Covid-19 in your prayers.
The monthly meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 2nd
has been cancelled too.
Happy Easter to you and your families.
Vivat Jesus

Faithful Pilot’s Report
Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who
are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence.
Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast
spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you
for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
Please remember the following in your prayers:

Faithful Admiral Message
"He rose again" (on the third day according to the scriptures) 1Corinthians 15:4
This is the Day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad.
Religiously Devoted. Patriotically Proud.
"What we stand for Defines who we are".
During the days of Lent, we have been practicing the penitential practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, attending
mass and Stations of the Cross if possible. Now we will be celebrating the most important time of the year-The Easter
Tritium: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Easter Sunday April 12th
On Holy Thursday morning, we celebrate the Mass of Chrism at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Hamilton, when
during the Mass, the priests renew their sacred vows, and the holy oils (oil of chrism, oil of catechumens and oils of
the sick) are distributed to every parish in the Diocese. The Easter Tritium begins with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper
on Thursday evening around 8 P.M.
The Holy Eucharist will remain in the Tabernacle until 11 P.M. Then it will be removed from the Church to a sacred
place. Good Friday, we celebrate the Passion our Lord in all our parishes around 3 P.M. It is a day of fast and
abstinence. The Easter Vigil is celebrated in all the parishes. Many parishes still hold the Vigil Mass at Midnight with
the Resurrection of our Lord. Some now celebrate it at 8 P.M. so more families can participate. At the Easter Mass
catechumens will be received into the Church by a Profession of Faith and others will be baptized with the water
blessed with Holy Water at the Vigil Mass.
I would like to extend my best wishes to all our Sir Knights, their ladies, families and loved ones a joyful Easter. Let
us remember the ultimate sacrifice of Christ; suffering crucifixion so that we may share eternal life with Him.
In March, (Bishop Crosby dinner and dance, attended by 800 strong) we had one Honour Guard event (Myself and SK
David D'Souza).
Right now, we are all facing challenges-but as Knights we are called to be leaders in a special way in critical moments.
Sir Knights, be assured of my continued prayers for you, your family and for all our Sir Knights in this difficult time. I
believe God is asking every Knight of Columbus to pray in a special way for one another and for our Order, not just
for health or well-being, but also that we are faithful to the great calling the Lord has given us as Knights in
this challenging time.
Elections:
Our assembly nominations for the executive 2020-2021 fraternal year are almost upon us. Nominations will be held at
our May general meeting, and reopened prior to the election at our June general meeting. Sir Knights, please consider
running for any position(s) that are open.

April’s interesting dates April Fool’s Day April 1
Traditionally, April Fool's Day is an opportunity for playing jokes or tricks on one another. The stranger and
the more absurd the better. The challenge is to carry out a trick that is believable, if only for a little while.
Tricks are most successful if played earlier in the day before a person is wise to what is going on. Younger
children are also more gullible. Any tricks or jokes must be harmless and in good taste for the unsuspecting "victim". And, we suggest you
think twice before pulling one on the boss, even if he or she is know to be of good humor
Important: Jokes and gags must be harmless and fun. They must not be dangerous or hurt anyone's feelings.
Give your jokes and gags some thought before carrying them out. Then, have fun!
Palm Sunday April5
Palm Sunday is begins the Holy week leading to Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It
commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem where people put palms down in front of his path.On
Palm Sunday, palms are distributed in church and blessed during the mass. People take them home and place
them around religious pictures, statues or other objects. They remain there for a year until the next Palm
Sunday when they are replaced by newly blessed Palms. When discarding old palms, remember it is a
blessed religious object and should be burned or buried. Some gardeners bury it in their home garden,
believing it will bless the coming year's crop.
Did you Know? The ashes you receive on Ash Wednesday are from the prior year’s palms.
National Beer Day April 7
On March 22, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, signed into law, the Cullen-Harrison Act. This act,
repealed prohibition for beer. Effective April 7, 1933, people could once more buy, sell and consume beer.
The night before, was called "New Beer's Eve" That night millions of Americans lined up waiting for the
stroke of midnight.
On April 7, 1993, the first National Beer Day, Americans consumed 1.5 million barrels of legal beer and ale.
Let's all lift our frothy mugs in celebration on this very special day
Golfer’s Day April 10
Some avid golfers might suggest any and every day is Golfer's Day. But on this day, it's official. The only
question is, does this day honor the golfer, the sport, or the weather? Well, it's a little of each. Golfer's Day is
an opportunity to be thankful that someone invented this addicting, yet relaxing hobby.
Also referred to as "Golf Day", there is only one proper way to enjoy this day. And, that's out on the golf
course.

When Golfer's Day falls on a week day, it is even more special. That means you now have an excuse to take
a day off of work and go play a round ...or two. Regardless of your score today, you know that even a bad
day on the greens, is better than a good day at work.
Easter Sunday April 12
The real meaning of Easter, is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. To Christians, it is the most
special day of the year. Yes, the birth of Christ is quite important. But, his resurrection offers the hope of
everlasting life to everyone! The Lenten season leading up to Easter Sunday is a time of fasting, sacrifice
and prayer. It is the Christian way of replicating in a small way what Christ sacrificed for us, both in his
fasting and his final death on the cross.
Stress Awareness Day April 16th
Is work or school putting on the pressure? Are the kids on your nerves? Is there enough money to pay all of
those the bills? There are literally thousands of reasons for you to get stressed out.
RELAX!!! Today is National Stress Awareness Day. This is your opportunity to recognize that there is
plenty of stress in your life... as if you didn't already know. More importantly, today is an opportunity to
learn, and to do something about the stress...... before it drives you batty or worse.
April is also designated as Stress Awareness Month.
With the events of past months, we may all need this
