REFUGE Addiction Recovery Groups

Thursdays at 7:00 PM These are Christ-centered groups helping people that experience a variety of different addictions. At REFUGE people meet to share and

learn together. As a result they will have the opportunity to experience God’s presence,

comfort and strength. Men and women meet together initially and then separate into gender-

specific groups.

Chancel Choir Recruitment Month:

Come make a joyful noise! Join our Fall Semester Choir! We’ll meet in August on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:00pm for Choir Recruitment Month! Our choir is a

closely knit group of people who pray for each other and lift each other up, edify the congregation with music, help lead in worship, and just like to sing!

Chancel Choir Christmas Cantata:

We’ll begin our Christmas cantata music rehearsals on Wednesday nights in September and we invite you to sing in our Christmas Choir, too! Our first cantata rehearsal will be Wednesday,

September 3rd with a potluck dinner beginning at 6:00pm and rehearsal at 7:00pm at my home. Call the church office or call me at 921-2128 for more info and directions.

Children’s Christmas Choir:

Rehearsals will begin on Sunday September 7th at 4:00pm. Auditions for characters will begin September 14th.

Fusion: Our Youth Band and singers, led by Sarah Guillot and Melanie will resume rehearsals on Sunday, August 10th at 5:00pm in the Music Suite. Open to all 6th -12th graders.

New Music Ministry! LOUMC COMMUNITY BAND

Can you find yourself in the picture below? Many of our high school and adult members either play a band instrument in a band OR have played in a band. We want you to be a part of the new LOUMC community band! What do you have to do? Email David Easley achordabove@etigers.net and let him know what instrument you play. This is not a band that will play every Sunday; however, we will rehearse on a regular schedule and play in the services occasionally. There are terrific arrangements of traditional hymns, gospel, praise and worship, etc. This is a great opportunity to participate in another area of music ministry. Dust off that trumpet, and buy a reed for that clarinet….better yet, just bring your horn and we will dust if off and buy you a reed!
