Thanksgiving and Children Thanksgiving is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your children. There is much that you can teach them on this very special holiday. Depending on their ages, you can show them how to cook one or two of the side dishes. A pilgrim history lesson in the form of an entertaining story may be well received. They could help with setting the table properly. Of course, Thanksgiving is also a great day to teach the kids about football. Children Being Left Alone Young children should NEVER, EVER be left alone in apartments - even for a minute. If you have to get your mail, pay your rent, go to the laundromat, by all means, bring your kids along with you! Repairs Inside Apartments There are two types of maintenance repair work orders - emergency and non- emergency. For non- emergency, we will do our best to accomodate your schedule. However, for emergencies such as water leaks, smoke detector alarm sounds, etc., we have to go into your apartment whether you are home or not. Please keep in mind that we have to protect, not only your unit, but those of your neighbors as well. Staying With Us Doesn't Have to be Expensive Most people don't look forward to renewing their lease. They're convinced it means forking out more money. But here at Cornerstone Pointe, residents find great financial incentives for renewing their release. If your lease is up for renewal in the next few months, give the office a call to find out about these incentives. We Give Thanks For Our Residents At this time of year when Americans are giving thanks for the good things in their lives, we want to let all of you know that our management team is very happy and thankful you live here. We hope that all of our residents have a safe, wonderful and filling Thanksgiving Holiday!

Growing up, Zoe always thought being a fashion model was the most glamorous job in the world, until 1993, when she ends up in a models’ hotel in Athens, Greece. At 22, she thinks she has it all figured out. Not so! Follow Zoe’s journey through the comical situations she finds herself in, from her overprotective landlord’s

list of rules, her improvised dance club “performance,” and her attempt to go to Milan with only $50 in her pocket.

Throughout her bumpy ride into the wonderful world of modeling, she writes her parent’s letters as a journal of her experiences. While being exposed to a world of glamour and lies, she finds herself realizing how insecure she really is, despite her beauty. But is really all starts when she moves to the United States at eight-years-old to chase what her father called “The American Dream.”

• In ancient Babylonian mythology, the pomegranate was considered a “resurrection fruit,” due to its restorative powers.

• The pomegranate’s name comes from the Latin “pomum granatus.” This translates to “seeded apple.”

• Both Catherine of Aragon and Maximilian I used the pomegranate as their personal emblems.

• Pomegranates are grown in California and throughout Asia and the Mediterranean countries.

• Pomegranates can be stored in a cool, dark place for up to a month or refrigerated for up to two months.

• Pomegranates grow on a small tree that reaches 16 to 25 feet (5-8 meters) tall.

• Pomegranate juice is popular in the Middle East and is used in Iranian and Indian cuisine. It was introduced to the American market in 2004.

• One pomegranate contains 40 percent of an adult’s daily vitamin C requirement. It is also rich in folic acid and antioxidants.

• The word grenade comes from the French word for pomegranate, as early grenades looked like pomegranates.

• The juice of pomegranates was originally used to make grenadine, a syrup used in the non-alcoholic cocktail called a Shirley Temple. Few grenadine brands today use real pomegranate juice.
