A plane figure is not considered a polygon when:It shows an open plane figure.

It has curves.

It has intersecting lines.

It has other vertices.

Different Types of Polygons:

A polygon is equilateral if all the sides are equal.

  A polygon is equiangular if all the angles are equal.

  A polygon is regular if it is both equilateral and equiangular.

Multiple EmbodimentUse different objects found in the

surroundings to show the examples of polygons: triangle, square, rectangle, and pentagon. Make it clear to the students that these objects show only representations of the different polygons. In this strategy, you will have to show different concrete, pictorial or abstract representations of a polygon, which can be found in the surrounding.
