IV. RATIONALE

%ne of the basic rights of children is survival & the right to be given proper nutrition and health' Hand in hand (ith the Department of Health )D%H*, theDepartment of Education )Deped* ensures deliver+ of ualit+ education services as (ellas health and nutrition services to the future of the land & pupils and students'

uch that , the Municipal Health %ffice of ever+ municipalit+ in coordination (ithDeped & District %ffice, renders health services to school children and ma-esaccomplishment reports on the follo(ing areas. establishment of sentrong sigla,immuni/ation of children, safe (ater, safe (aste management, nutritional status of school children, food assistance program to school children, nutrition education programand iodi/ed salt testing'

0oo-ing at the various service areas of the D%H, safe (ater is classified as onebut it is the sub component or main component of the other health service areas'

 Availabilit+ of safe and potable drin-ing (ater b+ our school children is of vitalimportance to their health and nutrition' The accessibilit+ to safe (ater is of great helpto the children most especiall+ in their school achievement and performances'

The Department of Health and Department of Education ma+ have this in their service areas but provision of financial assistance in the construction of (ater tan-s ands+stems can not be contained b+ their funds due to man+ priorit+ pro1ects and limitedbudget' Hence, this pro1ect proposal'

V. OBJECTIVES

The construction of (ater tan- at Masla National High chool aims to.2' ensure the availabilit+ and accessibilit+ of safe and potable drin-ing (ater to the

school children3"' provide (ater in hand (ashing facilities in the school34' maintain cleanliness in restrooms and school surroundings3 and5' give proper nutrition and health in general to school children'

VI. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
