Maybe wondered what it would be like to shoot a handgun or shotgun? Been too intimidated or don’t know who to ask? If this sounds familiar, then look no further. We have another fun filled, ad- venturous day that awaits you! Today is all about you! Your day starts with complimentary muf- fins & coffee to enjoy as you listen to the mandatory firearm safety class, taught by qualified instructors. This is a great intro- duction that will assist you throughout the day. From there you will move on to the events of your choice, also all taught by our qualified instructors. At noon we will provide you with savory hamburgers, tasty hotdogs, refreshing salads & delicious desserts. You will have time to browse or shop at some of the local vendors booths or talk to some of our qualified instructors. *The W.O.W Event Fee is $80.00. *Event Fees Include : program materi- als, personal instrucon, equipment use, lunch, refreshments throughout the day & a pig roast for supper. *Pig roast ckets for guests are separate & may be purchased in advance for $10 through registraon or at RRGC. COMPASS ORIENTEERING

with fear of getting lost? Well

here’s your chance to learn .

Taught by the Royal Canadian

Air Cadets.

CRAFTING WITH NATURE

Learn how to make an outdoor

decoration using items from

nature & miscellaneous items

from around the home.

FISHING TACTICS

Learn fishing tactics, using the

right lures for which fish, how

to live hook a minnow or

worm, how to tie your line, &

where to cast to find your

CATCH OF THE DAY?

GUN CLEANING

For your firearm to work

properly & give you years of

use it must be cleaned. Come

learn the simple procedures of

cleaning different types of

firearms.

HANDGUN TARGET SHOOTING

Shoot a handgun with one on

one instruction. Aiming at

targets in an indoor range will

certainly surprise you as you

discover your new found skill.

RELOADING

Ever wonder what is in a shot-

gun shell? Learn the compo-

nents, what you need, where to

buy & safe storage.

.22 RIFLE

Fun & Challenging! Test your

skill using a .22 rifle shooting at

targets set at the 100m range.

One on one instruction will be

provided as you learn this new

skill.

SELF-DEFENSE

Do you know how to defend

yourself? Our qualified instruc-

tor will show you how to pro-

tect yourself & survive in the

outdoors.

SKEET

Learn a recreational & competi-

tive activity where participants,

using shotguns, attempt to

break clay disks automatically

flung into the air from two fixed

stations at high speed from a

variety of angles.

TIN CAN ALLEY

Remember when you were a

kid, plinking at tin cans in the

back yard? Try our version using

pellet guns. How many shots

does it take YOU to clear the

course?

TRAP SHOOTING

Learn the significance of calling

“PULL”. This course will help

perfect your shooting skills.

Using a .20 or .12 gauge shot-

gun, you will hit clay pigeons

randomly thrown in the air.

TAXIDERMY

Every wonder how it’s done?

What products are used? Hear

what it takes to preserve your

prize trophy & the steps need-

ed to ensure a great mount.

UNDERSTANDING THE OUTDOORS

Understand the truths about

being out in the bush. Learn

what plants to avoid, what is

venomous and what is not.

Let’s learn together and dispel

the myths; as this session will

teach you the truths about the

wildlife in your backyard.

WILDERNESS FIRST AID

Observe an incident with tri-

age, treatment, evacuation &

continual care. Debrief the

scenario. Critical thinking exer-

cise involves small groups to

work on other scenarios. Dis-

cussion on the unique differ-

ences in the wilderness re-

mote settings when 911 is not

available.

5- STAND (P.A.L. Holders Only)

Learn how to shoot at various

combinations of clay birds.

Each station will have a menu

card that lets the shooter

know the sequence of clay

birds she will be shooting at.

Typical five stand targets are

rabbit, chandelle, overhead,

standard skeet high house &

low house shots, teal

(launched straight up into the

air) & an incoming bird.
