THE ORC

Heat from the pool of watermakes my achingscarred body relax.I slip into the hot springsnakedThe most recentcut, begins to healas the warmth invadesmy frozen bodyMy soul must remainuntouched, dead, cold as stone, unfeeling,as I slip my knife blade intothe other swimmer in the pool.Orcs - they foul the water you knownot my fault.

Here I am thinking you are saying something intelligent"I stared at my bottle of rum"horses can't talk" I saidshe replied"who you calling a horse?"I looked around and said"YOU"she then laughed and ran off into the snowtook me 5 hours to get her backnow my fat ass is cold and wetand she won't let me ride.

the flowerA flower in the snowmy heart soars,is spring coming?can I now be free of this coldnessthis lack of warmth, this everlasting gloom,Only if I don't pick it,but it is frozenI finally notice. Diedfrozen in beautifulfull flower. I thenam sad again.

Silencedno it is just the winddeath marked the plaincold, colder than earth atthe beginning of theend of life"what does a grain of sand soundlike as it rolls across the ground"only the dead know,Silenced.

Snowflakes make more soundtouching the groundthan I donow.New spring flowerspetals slipping apartmake more soundthan I doNow.Raindrops falling through theairmake more soundthan I donow.

Rusty sword and split shieldupon the dry plain.Did they belong tothe valiant warrior, perhapsmaybe the hunter, but there are no petbones to be seenA rogue, felled in combat. The story cannot be toldby the Silenced, we knownot how they cameto fall here.We did not see andthey are unable to tell.

Death, lonely life now thatsilence has fallen.Never again shall I hearthe soft voices of lovedones, speaking of things so dear.Never again shall sound disturbmy soul. Alas I wishthatsound could, for I am Silenced, andthe earth is silent to me,forever.

My feet make no sound upon the earthas I wander.I wave and speak to travelers, they seem not to notice.I drink from the streamwater has no feeling. My end brought a newlife, devoid of sound, feeling, warmth, joy, pain, but not cold, no not cold, that and the silence aremy two closest companions now.We walk Silenced across the earthonly the moon can see me,but even she cannot hear mecrying.Soundless calm, peaceful

Page 8: Poems

relaxingeverlasting.Upon the dry plain mybody lies, I stand over it.I know the wind blows by the dirt thatis slowly burying me.No not me anymore, just a part of me.Life was raging and blood wasflowing in that body, just moments ago, before the mistake that stoppedsoundfrom entering my life.Soft sunlight in the earlymorning makes a soundthat the dying can hear, but sadly the deadcannot.

Silenced - cursed,at least the Undead canstill hearand feel;the Silenced can do neither. The Undead passed over and returnedbut we could not.No we are cursed,we the Silenced. There is no return now for us.

- - -

Sing a songfor the fallen and raiseyour glasses high, praise their glories and valor.Sing loud and longtogether into the dawn, for tomorrow you may joinusthe Silenced, who sadlycan no longer hear the song.

ReunionLove hath brought us togetherunder the azure sky,the beach is warm beneathour tired feet.Birds wheel in the sky and singsoftly to us,their words unknownbut somehow comforting. You were away for to longmy love, where have you beenI care not now that you are here.

Melancholy

who treads at my door,an old ghost I suspect.image of a past lifeshimmering at the hearthresplendent in it's beauty.was that the way I appearedto you when we were young.maybe it is just a dream Ihad of you, dancing in the twilightin Ashenvale that summerevening.no I believe that it wasyou, I just cannot raisemy head for I am dying.oh joy I finally feel your warmhand on mine, your softkiss upon my brow,a kind word from your lips.now I can drift away,we will meet again my old friendour ghosts together forever.

heavenly spirit I call to youshine upon my paththe light of loveI go to meet my beloved.long we have been apartyet we will not feel thatwhen we meet,it will be as if the daywas just past thatwe marched off towar in different directions.I have not heard from youin so long but Iknow that we will betogether in the processionwhen it marches into the city.others will be with us that weknew from long before, all will rejoice at ourliving, and sing thepraises of our dead. You will be at my sidein a few hours,we can see the cloud of dustthat marks your approach.my senses are more alive nowthan in the heat of battle,

Azeroth

Sunlight filters past the leavestouching my face.I smile and roll gently in the grasssmelling the new flowers, with eyes closed I listento the stream beside me.

Azeroth! Oh the joy inmy heart. Land of myhome, but no place is reallya home, but Azeroth IShome.

Dry plains and frozen mountains, deep forests, azure seas, crystal clear lakesall created for us.Who would take this fromthe dwellers? I fear thatthe Burning Legion wantswhat we hold dear.Never shall they haveAzeroth.

Coolwater, it plays upon myfeetas I walk in the stream. The mosson the shoreisvelvety smooth,I rest my cheek therefor amoment.High abovebirds circlein the sky abovethe battlefield.I have moved upwindto escape the stench. Here the pretty stream isnot stainedwithblood, nor filled with the bodiesof the deadand dying. We fought todayand no one won,but we still

we never intended it tobe that way - oh none ofus ever do.now I sit here on the shoreand listen to the softbeat of the surfupon the sand.fog is creeping in from theVeiled Sea and my heartsinks a bit.we lived here inMenethil Harbor for30 years, he and I.now I have no one, maybe my son will return on the nextship.I know he is not lonelya fine young man, thoughpart night elf and part humanhe has my eyes andhis father's face.I could write him againhe usually repliesbut it is not the sameanymore.he always would ask ofhis father - who neverwrote one word in his life -and I would tell himmany things.father's and sons need not writeof their lovefor one another,it is known to them.my own father isnot like that.I still hate him,he livesand my belovedis dead.
