The Masterclass

This short course is designed for communications teams and case workers who want to explore and design podcasts in the development sector setting. The three-day masterclass will provide practical training on getting an engaging podcast season o� the ground for professionals in the social development sector. This training will focus on best practices to create an engaging podcast season from start to �nish – from set up to recording, scripting to editing, as well as distributing episodes online. Participants will leave with handouts and templates to get their podcast started.

Trainer

Chhavi SachdevChhavi Sachdev is a radio and podcast producer, consultant, and coach. She is also the most experienced podcaster in India -- she has been making pod-casts since 2008 – and is one of few radio reporters and producers in the country. Her features have been broadcast on the BBC World Service, Nation-al Public Radio, Deutsche Welle, Radio Netherlands, and Public Radio Interna-tional. She has produced podcasts for Sonologue, Tall Tales, Tata Sons, Bound, The Canadian Consulate General and others. Since 2011, Chhavi has been conducting regular workshops (www.sono-logue.com/workshops) for individuals, colleges, corporates, as well as NGOs. Over the years, she has done hands-on workshops for media organizations like The Quint, specialized day-long workshops on making audio features and narrative podcasts for cultural organization like the Goethe Zentrum, full day workshops on writing for the ear (since podcast scripting is vastly di�erent from web or video copy) as well as the basics of editing and even feature and documentary podcast creation for working journalists and activists through organizations like Malayala Manorama and the Friedrich Naumann Founda-tion for Freedom.Chhavi has a master’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University, and is a lifetime member of the South Asian Journalists Association and the Pod-cast Academy.
