Schedule for both live compeons All entries Accepted by a submitted cake photograph Both Live Finals will be held at Cake International - The Sugarcraft & Cake Decoration Show 2012, at the NEC Birmingham. Entries are free and you will need to supply a photograph of a decorated cake that you are prepared to recreate at the Live Finals, within the constraints and rules of the competition. Competitor’s may submit a maximum of TWO different entries for selection. A panel of experienced judges will select the Finalists from the photographs submitted. Live Competition Schedule for both categories The cake may consist of a sponge cake, fruit cake or dummy to create a formal or fun celebration cake. The shape of the cake and board is to the competitor’s choice to fit within 38cm (15ins). There is no height restriction. Decorative Medium Edible decorative mediums and decorations are of the competitor’s choice and may include non edible items such as wires and ribbons but all internal supports should be edible e.g. sugar sticks, spaghetti. Competitors will also be judged on their work practice and Health and Safety regulations must be adhered to at all times. Note You are also advised that the cake should be coated and decorated during the Live Competition and that any work prepared in advance will not be judged and may also result in the loss of marks. Equipment A variety of equipment may be used but the design must include; One PME Supatube (icing tube) One PME Cutter One other item of PME Product For the live finals some basic equipment and cleaning materials will be supplied but all other materials and tools must be provided by the competitor. A full list will be sent to all finalists. Preparation Time The live finals will also include a 45 minute preparation time for organising your workspace and filling piping bags etc. All edible icings may be brought to the finals ready coloured but must be removed from their original packaging prior to the competition. 2012Rules & RegulationsEntriesCompetitors must complete an entry form for EACH ENTRY and send it to Knightsbridge PME Ltd at the postal or email address shown and by the closing date indicated.Photographs should be of a good quality and minimum size of 6”x 4” (15x10cm) . Employees of the sponsors are not permitted to enter.Closing DateThe closing date for all entries is Monday 1st October 2012. Late entries will only be accepted at the organisers’ discretion.Award GuidelinesEach entry should be the unaided work of the competitor whose name appears on the entry form. The judges will be looking for the following:

Creativity/development of new ideas Workmanship/craft skills shown Composition/colour and proportion Presentation and visual appeal Good working practices and the use of the required elementsExhibits that do not comply with the given schedule will be disqualified.Competitor CriteriaPME Cake Decorator of the year 2012This competition is open to all UK and International cake decorators. A complete set of rules and regulations for the finals will be sent to all finalists.PME Student of the Year 2012This competition is open to students attending cake decorating classes at a college, bakery school, cake decorating school or retail shop.Intellectual Property RightsBy entering the competition each competitor accepts that their designs/work may be reproduced and will not hold ICHF Ltd or Knightsbridge PME Ltd or its employees liable in any way should this happen. Designs/work may be photographed by the sponsors and used in promotional material.Live FinalsThese will be held LIVE at Cake International 2012 and finalists will be required to recreate their cake design in three hours.
