They then used what they’d discussed to explain some practical observations from demos

This homework format was really accessible for me and I found it more enjoyable as the question types vary and I'm more likely to get it done as I use computers a lot. I wouldn't say it was easier but it did help with my knowledge and understanding of this topic.
