Rajkiya Engineering College (R.E.C.) Ambedkar Nagar was established by Government
of Uttar Pradesh in year 2010, however, in a very short spell of about 8 years, REC
Ambedkar Nagar has turned into a centre of excellence in technical education to combat
the growing need of technological professionals in India as well as in the World. The
graduating students, from the very beginning, have continuously been able to excel not
only in their fields of study but also in co-curricular activities. The alumni of our college
are showing distinction in their respective positions.
At Rajkiya Engineering College, Ambedkar Nagar, we groom our students according to
the needs of the industry. We open frontiers of technical knowledge and reveal new
horizons of change, to broaden mind-sets of our students. Apart from the study, our

Rajkiya Engineering College Ambedkar Nagar was established by Government of Uttar
Pradesh in year 2010. The college offers B.Tech Programme in three disciplines –
Information Technology (IT), Electrical Engineering (EE) and Civil Engineering (CE)
with intake of 60 seats in each branches
REC Ambedkar Nagar has maintained an exemplary record of academic contribution for
achieving excellence in teaching, research and governance. A sincere effort has now
begun to restore the vantage position of REC Ambedkar Nagar as the top technological
Institute in Uttar Pradesh. The students of REC Ambedkar Nagar are a cherry picked
group. They have been chosen through a process that makes REC Ambedkar Nagar one
of the most privileged institutes to get an admission.

Academic Programmes and
Admission Procedure
Admission in REC Ambedkar Nagar takes place through the counselling
conducted by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow, Uttar
Pradesh based on the merit of candidates in the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance
Examination (UPSEE) except for Other State Nominees which are nominated
by the Government of India.
The Institute offers the following courses under semester system:

(i) The Institution under the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme has been allowed to
admit 5% of its sanctioned intake as an additional intake in the same discipline/branch
of study.
(ii) In addition to the above, a total number of 10 students as Other States Nominees on
behalf of the Govt. of India are admitted.
(iii) 5% seats on the total sanctioned intake approved by AICTE are available for Non-
Resident Indians (NRI).

Beyond Academics
We strive to develop the overall personality of our students. There are a number of technical and
cultural events organized by both the students and the administration round the year to allow the
students to showcase and enhance their talents, be it in sports, arts or technical events.
Student Activity Center
The Rajkiya Engineering College has created a model facility in the name of Students
Activities Centre in the premises of the College adjacent to Sports Complex. Indoor games
like carrom, chess, etc., are provided as a recreational activity for students to relax during free
time apart from providing few sports magazines.
This center provides the basic framework for the execution of all student activities.
To promote extra-curricular activities – sports, cultural, artistic and technical, among
all students of the Institute.
To help inculcate leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation among students.

To help create a truly multi-cultural environment where students from diverse

The Council of Student Activities
The Council of Student Activities (CSA) aims to promote and develop extracurricular
personality of a student. It consists of different councils as detailed under. Students are
required to join at least two of the following council activities:
Technical Council: The aim of this council is to enhance
the technical innovativeness of students by organizing the
workshops and competitions on various technical level in
order to attract the interest of the student s towards
technical aspects of their education.
Literary Council: The Literary council organises various
discussion sessions, workshops and competitive events
among the students. By reading about life in different
cultures and societies, the student's understanding of the
world gets enormously enhanced and they view
themselves and their lifestyle with new eyes. It benefits
them both intellectually and personally.
Cultural Council: The Cultural council is entrusted with
the responsibility of exploring the realms of our cultural
talents. The club helps the students in grooming their
hidden cultural talents.

Sports Council: The Sports council conducts various inter
college and intra college sports events to pioneer spirit of
teamwork among the students. The college provides
excellent infrastructure for Cricket, basketball,
Volleyball, Football and various other sports.
Fine Arts Council: The objective of the Fine Arts Council
is to ensure the inclusion of the fine arts (music, art,
drama, and dance) in college curricula. The Council
strives to teach students to appreciate, understand and
develop critical awareness of the products of the mind,
the voice, the hand and the body.
Hobby Council: The object of the Council ise to
encourage the collection of literary, artistic and scientific
works; to aid in the development of literary, artistic and
scientific matters; to promote social and literary
intercourse among its members, and the discussion and
consideration of various literary and economic subjects

About Ambedkar Nagar District
Ambedkar Nagar district is a district in the Faizabad division of Uttar Pradesh in
India. This district was created on September 29, 1995 and was named in memory of
Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who worked for the advancement of the deprived classes,
women and other weaker sections of society.
Akbarpur is also the birth place of Ram Manohar Lohia (1910-1967) who was a renowned Indian freedom fighter and a socialist political leader.

Places to visit near Ambedkar Nagar
Ambedkar Nagar district on the banks of river Ghaghara is very popular for the
religious places in and around the district. Following is a list of some of these places:-
AYODHYA
Distance between Akbarpur and Ayodhya is 54 Kms. Being the birthplace of Lord Rama and
the five of Jainism’s 24 Tirthankaras, this land has many mythological and sacred bonds.
VARANASI
Distance between Akbarpur and Varanasi is 134 Kms. Varanasi or Banaras, mentioned in the
scriptures as Kashi is a paragon of Indian culture, philosophy, traditions and spiritual ethos
since times immemorial. It is among the Sapta Puries, meaning seven sacred cities of Ancient
India.
ALLAHABAD
Distance between Akbarpur and Allahabad is 154 Kms. Allahabad is one of the destinations
which holds the Kumbh Mela, world’s largest congregation of devotees. The city has been
described in ancient scriptures as ‘Teerthraj’, the holiest pilgrimage centre and is indeed a
perfect place to have a soulful escape.

KUSHINAGAR
Distance between Akbarpur and Kushinagar is 180 Kms. Kushinagar is one of the four
important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists all over the world. Kushinagar is the sacred place
chosen by Lord Buddha himself to achieve Mahaparinirvana. This is the place where he was
cremated and his relics were distributed.
KICHHAUCHHA SHARIF
Ashrafpur Kichhauchha is a town in Ambedkar Nagar district with the nearest railway station
at Akbarpur, about 25 km away. It is well known as the shrine of famous Sufi Saint Saiyad
Makhdhum Shah Jahangir Asharfi. He was born in Semnan, Iran, and made a notable
contribution to the advancement of the Chishti lineage in particular. The saint had travelled
widely to spread the message of peace to the people. The Kichhauchha Dargah Sharif is built
over a small hill which is surrounded by a pond. The whole complex is decorated with
marble, tiles and glasses. Thousands of pilgrims from all over India and elsewhere visit the
shrine throughout the year.

Placement Cell
REC Ambedkar Nagar Placement cell is run and managed by an efficient team of office staff
and handles all aspects of placements. The Officer-in-Charge, Placement cell, in consultation
with the placement cell team and student representatives, handles the placement cell circular
tasks. The student representatives along with the departmental placement co-ordinators
provide their best possible assistance to the recruiters and also put their consummate efforts,
