The Larimer Campus houses training school and youth center facilities. The project is part of a larger framework which aimed to remove housing in one area of the neighborhood and densify another area. The emptied land would then be transform into urban argricul-ture land to generate revenue for the neighborhood. Thus the teaching programs of the school focused on jobs that would benefit construction and building retrofit industires, as well as agricultural training.
Types of current green jobs were studied, and the programs of this project is laid out inaccordance with the information displayed in the chart to the left.
The project central itself around an existing builidng, the old Larim-er School. This old school builidng was built since the 1800, with vari-ous notable features such as gothic arches, it has been abandoned for over 30 years.
A green house is attached to the Southern façade of the building, framing the existing archways. The screen of the greenhouse extends out and peal away to frame sur-rounding arches of the existing builidng.
Many features of the old build-ing are not as convenient as those of more modern buildings. For instance, the main entryways are located in the second level. Thus Ramp and extended platforms be-came the characteristic of the main public space. This project aim to hightlight the notable features of the old building, while allowing the users to experience the building in a new way.
