* ** Abstract Ali Haider Multani is one of the major poets of Saraiki language, especially with reference to Si-Harfis, he is considered to be the greatest. His Si-Harfis contain verses which reflect his mystical mindset. Ali Haider is perhaps first ever mystic poet who expresses his mystical thought through Quranic verses as well as local symbols. After Hazrat Sultan Bahu, Ali Haider is the foremost poet whose poetry is full of lyricism and natural flow of words. Ali Haider Multani is also distinguished in so far as he takes pride in identifying himself with his homeland and with his vernacular. His poetry genuinely depicts his cultural background and local colours. * ** 85
