given a concrete shape by starting Punjab institute of management and technology in 1997.In

main aim of this journal is to

academicians, policy planners and

Fresher’s party at PIMT The fresher’s party was celebrated

with great pomp and show . Freshers

party is much awaited affair for

seniors as well as juniors. This

ceremony began with candle light

welcome for juniors where director

PIMT Dr. Manisha Gupta and staff

and faculty members of PIMT

lightened the lamp. The ceremony

saw many dazzling performances by

both seniors and juniors alike from

energetic dance numbers that made

evening even more charming.

Students including freshers and

seniors gave amazing performances

in Solo Dance, Group Dance and

Singing. Mr. Neeraj ( BCA 1) and

Miss Harman (BBA 1) became

Mr. & Ms. Fresher’2016. Mr.

personality of the party became

gorgeous became Meenakshi ( BSC

ATHM 1).

Management Quiz Competition @ PIMT PIMT organized a Management quiz

for the students of MBA 3,BBA 3,

BBA 5, BCOM 5, BCOM 3. There

were twenty four participants in six

teams who participated very

enthusiastically in management quiz.

Various management subjects and

current business topics were covered

in competition. The Management

quiz was designed as an innovative

and interactive development

programme to facilitate a copious

flow of knowledge, ideas and

information beyond the traditional

bounds of management and review

the awareness level of the

participating students

World tourism day @ PIMT World tourism day was celebrated

very enthusiastically at PIMT. The

purpose of this day is to raise

awareness on the role of tourism

within the international community

and to demonstrate how it affects

social, cultural, political and

economic values worldwide. The

students prepared various posters and

presented their views on the theme of

‘Tourism for all’, on world tourism

day celebrations. The students

participated in various events of

poster making, Rangoli making,

dancing, singing etc.

Punjab Institute of Management and Technology, Mandi Gobindgarh celeberated Diwali in

college campus on 27th Oct, 2016 . The Activities like , Heena (Mehandi), Rang De

(Rangoli) , Recycle me (Best out of Waste), Kitchen Star (Salad Decoration), Deepanjali

(Diya & Candle Decoration), Dazzling Nails(Nail Art), PPT’s Development were the part of

the Diwali celebrations . In the event Heena (Mehandi) Shivangi Gupta ( Bcom 1) stood first

and Rukhsar (BMS ATHM ) and Meenakshi Sharma (MBA 3) stood second respectively .

In the event Rang De (Rangoli) Shikha MBA 3rd and Amanjot (MBA 3rd) got first position

and Anu Rani (BMS ATHM 3) and Gurpreet got second position respectively . In the event

Annual Prize Distribution Function

PIMT organized INTRA COLLEGE PRIZE AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL on 4th Nov

2016 . A wide spectrum of activities ranging from music, dance, fine arts, to technical skills

thereby manifesting unity, healthy competition, harmony, and spirit-de-corps are the part of

the event. The event provided a lot of scope to the students to improve their planning and

organizing skills. The Activities like Song (solo), Dance (solo), Dance (group), Fashion Show

, Skit were the part of the event. In the event Song (solo), Aadil (BMS ATHM III ) and Nitish

( BBA V) stood first and second respectively. In the event Dance (solo) Saurav (BSC Agr-

III) , and Shikha ( MBA III) stood first and second respectively . In the event fashion show

, Mr Junaid ( MCA III) was chosen as Mr Perfect and Miss Divya ( BBA V) was chosen as

Miss Perfect. Mr Sohit ( Bcom V) was chosen as Mr Confident and Miss Rukhsar ( BMS

ATHM 1) was chosen as Miss Confident. Miss Kavita( Bcom V) was chosen as Miss Outfit

of the day and Mr Shahid ( MBA III) was chosen as Mr Outfit of the day. After the

performances there was annul prize distribution function of academic and cultural

achievements of the students.

Social & welfare Activities by GESWT & PIMT

BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANIZED BY LIONS CLUB & PIMT

There's no substitute for blood donation and giving blood regularly saves lives.

Donating blood is a great service to society. One single donation can be split into three

separate parts, helping save or improve the lives of patients. If you donate blood, you can

help in saving lives of many patients So, the blood donation camp was organized by Punjab

Institute of Management and Gobindgarh Public College, Alour (Khanna) in the loving

memories of founder trustees of GESWT, Mandi Gobindgarh Late Sh. Sat Dev Saggar and

Late Sh, Prem Kumar Saggar . Dr Rakesh Kumar and his team of specialists came from Govt.

Hospital sec 32 Chandigarh for blood donation camp. Volunteers of PIMT and GPC exhibited

their active participation in this camp. After the blood donation refreshment was given to the

donators. Dr Manisha Gupta applauded the management skills of students and faculty for

organizing this Blood Donation Camp in a well-planned manner. She also lauded the

motivation of students for their highly enthusiastic contribution in organizing this camp and

making it a success.

TRAINING & PLACEMENT NEWS

Training & Placement Cell has wide network and has developed excellent liaison and rapport

with the industry of this region. The placement through campus is assured to every student

undergoing post graduate course in this institute. The students are specifically groomed to

meet the challenges of the globalized industry and service sector. Special focus is laid on to

develop soft skills and technical knowledge by providing regular PD classes by IIM experts

in association with” Elements Academia- (An IIM Alumni venture) and NIIT to inculcate

qualities like honesty, integrity.

The department also arranges industrial training for students. Large number of students gets

the opportunity to undergo training in MNC and reputed industries/ software firms like SMT

Machines ,A.R casting, East Man Cast and forge LTD, Chanakya Dairy Products Limited,

A.R. Casting, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages PVT, Hero Cycles Limited, Remax,

Edelweiss, Sebiz Technologies, HCL Ludhiana, Sobhagia Sales Pvt.Ltd., Cargill India, Just

Dial, LIFE CELL, CQLSYS Technologies, Beta soft technologies.. The department also

arranges industrial visits and Guest Lectures of eminent personalities from industry and

academia.

INDUSTRIAL VISITS

Frequent industrial visits are organized for the students in the various industries to expose

them to the industrial work culture and environment. The objective of such industrial visits

is that Management and IT students should be equipped with the requirements of both

theoretical and practical aspects to compete the competitive world and to enhance their

employability.

BMS ATHM 1 visited Airport Ludhiana where they explored the airline industry

BMS ATHM 1 visited McDonald’s Doraha for industrial Visit for enhancing the

knowledge about fast food industry

BCOM 3rd visited Coca Cola for exploring manufacturing of cold drinks and their

management strategies.

B.Sc. Agriculture visited PAU Ludhiana on the occasion of Kisan Mela for getting the

knowledge about new techniques in agriculture industry.

BCA V, MCA I & MCA III Visited CS Soft Solutions P Ltd where they got knowledge

of information technology.
