Confidential Slide 28
Evaluation Methodology
A survey carried out in the area where Test – pilot was conducted
The survey was carried out by reputed third party marketing agency
The questionnaire was carefully designed to understand the acceptance of offer, execution channel and product by the consumers
Confidential Slide 29
Major Findings
Likes by the consumers
Concept of Energy Saving
Extended Warrantee
Installation included
Ease of offer redemption process
Confidential Slide 30
Major Findings
Dislikes by the consumers
Expensive
The discounted price is more than available options.
Compares it with the existing inefficient appliance and feel that investment is unnecessary.
No visible change in bill post-retrofit
As the lighting load form a small part of entire energy consumption ,the reduction in bill can easily get masked by addition of appliances/ seasonal variations
Confidential Slide 31
Major Findings
Dislikes by the consumers
Not a high priority item
Not an energy guzzler. Hence low priority item for energy saving
Reluctance in giving away appliance in working condition
Wants to have product demo at home
Communication in local language preferred
Confidential Slide
Other Issues Programs not qualifying the DSM tests due to lower power
purchase cost Poor response from Manufacturers Lack of awareness in consumers on 5 star / EE appliances Consumers don’t notice adds on electricity bills Higher promotion cost due to lack of awareness. Due to consumer mix, the promotion cost increases for
commercial sector. Strike rate 3 to 4%
32
Major Findings
Confidential Slide
Other Issues Quality of products Consumer expects immediate response from vendor. Consumer not reachable to vendor. Vendor not much techno savvy Difficult to digest for consumer the fact of any utility funding
for energy efficiency and consumer benefits. Consumer not agree for M&V
