Extraordinary not ordinary, or: variety is the spice of life!

Dear readers,dear customers,

In the last edition we presented one of our recipes for success to you: team spirit. The worldwide LIQUI MOLY family – employees, customers, inspired people, all around the world.

A further recipe for success: creativity and variety. A cornucopia of activities around the globe. A mixture, starting with a good basic product with exceptional quality and good customer service, sustainable and social operation to a palette of marketing and sponsoring opportunities. The fact that this is the case at LIQUI MOLY, you can see on the right in a letter that our business friend Dirk Sauer sent us.

Alongside variety in the product and service area, above all the human components are vital. A mixture of young talents that create new ideas and who know about the modern world, mixed with the experience and expertise of the older ones – this is the only way to progress and this is equally valid for Germany as it is for America, China, Australia, South Africa and all other countries in the world.

Dear Mr Prost,dear Liqui Moly team,

In 2012 and 2013 we had numerous engine damages in our fleet in the form of crank shaft bearing, crank drive bearing, main bearing and piston DAMAGE.

The determined cause: deficient bearing or surface lubrication!!!!After this, all the lorries in our fleet were ordered into the workshop for an oil check and quality control ahead of time. To be clear, long before the required oil change interval. The result was a complete catastrophe... In two engines the oil was as thick as pudding. Its consistency had transformed from liquid to solid!!!! Lubrication was physically no longer possible, not to mention chemically...

The conclusion of my oil supplier at that time: an incorrect oil delivery was probably used. Back then I ordered bulk goods that were filled into our oil tank with tankers. For me it was pointless to blame the damage that we had in 2012, and in older lorries, on the supplier. My trust was completely destroyed.

I ordered numerous parts suppliers and representatives of every oil brand.Mr Stahl from your sales team was one of the people we saw and he presented the products of Liqui Moly to us. Thanks to his demeanour and his honest style, I got to know the Liqui Moly products better and decided to switch to Liqui Moly.

Today we have been a customer of yours for over a year and we exclusively use Liqui Moly products. Starting with engine oil, transmission oil, hydraulics oil, diesel additives, underbody protection, cleaners etc. It truly was the BEST CHOICE I could have made.

Products + quality + support + service = WORLD CLASS.

Furthermore, I would like to thank you for the invitation to the Lausitzer Eisfüchse ‚Game Day‘ and, more recently, the invitation to the WTCC race in Bratislava. They were unforgettable events and I admire and value the sponsoring activities of Liqui Moly a great deal.

LIQUI MOLY technologyIn our ‚Pictures & Stories‘ we would like to give you a closer look at our brand with regular topics. What do I need this or that oil? What does LIQUI MOLY do for environmental protection? Why kind of customer service does LIQUI MOLY offer me? What does LIQUI MOLY have in its range other than oils?

Appropriate to the summery weather, in this edition, application engineer Harry Hartkorn answers several questions on the topic:

How do I properly take care of my car?

Why is the regular maintenance of my vehicle so important anyway?

Harry Hartkorn: Regular maintenance, be it a motorbike or car, makes a significant contribution towards maintaining the value of a vehicle. Alongside gloss retention, it also serves to protect against weathering influences that a vehicle is exposed to over the course of a year. Examples for this are moisture and snow, but also things such as gravel, exhaust gases, solar irradiation and/or salt (depending on the time of year).

How do I best proceed with cleaning?

Hartkorn: We recommend the first step be a thorough car wash. A automated wash is easier – however, washing by hand is still cleaner, more gentle and more cost-effective. Here, a combination of car wash shampoo and car sponge are ideal. The shampoo protects the paint and creates polish. It also uses wash-active substances to remove dust as well as oil and greasy dirt free of residue. Plus, it is biodegradable, also an important factor when selecting the right products.

LIQUI MOLY technologyWhat happens after washing? Directly to the paintwork treatment?

Hartkorn: Correct! Thanks to the wash, the paint is optimally prepared for paintwork handling. Here we recommend our polishes, depending on the type of paintwork. These are ideal thanks to their environmentally friendly and water-based recipe for paints of the latest generation, offer improved weathering protection and are easy to process. A complete paintwork treatment can easily take a whole hour, but bonded residual dirt is removed and polish is simultaneously created. Above all, however, a protective layer conserves the paintwork against weathering related influences.

What about the components that are most severely influenced by weathering along with the body, i.e. tyres, windscreens etc.?

Hartkorn: Components that are particularly affected by contact with braking dust, tar and the effects of other outer influences can be protected and here, again, there are valuable helpers by LIQUI MOLY. For cleaning windscreens on the outside I recommend our inspect remover, which quickly and effortlessly removes insects and is also biodegradable as well as the windscreen cleaner foam, which highly effectively removes silicon, nicotine and oil and grease-type dirt and therefore ensures crystal-clear windscreens. For tyres and rims we recommend our rim clear special. It effortlessly cleans and removes brake dust and other dirt and prevents persistent new dirt from forming. It is also extremely easy to use, as after spraying it changes colour and thereby shows how long it should be left to take effect. Then it just has to be rinsed off.
