Body Composition 300 Answer

Body Composition 300 Answer

The most accurate way to determine body fat is underwater weighing. In this method, a person is placed on a scale and submersed in water. Calipers, taking skin fold measurements, provides another fairly accurate way to determine body fat. Near-infrared light technology is yet another way to measure body fat. Hand held devices and scales designed to measure body fat currently have a large margin of error.

The scale is not one of them. Scales give total weight, not percent body fat, and can’t determine if that is healthy for you.

Page 34: Physical Fitness Jeopardy! Designed by Nate Ramezane 7th Grade PE MAT 672 Professor Vellanoweth Designed by Nate Ramezane 7th Grade PE MAT 672 Professor

Cardiovascular Fitness Cardiovascular fitness is the body’s ability to continuously provide oxygen to the muscles while exercise is being performed over a long period of time. Cardiovascular fitness includes the circulatory system and the respiratory system. The circulatory system includes the heart, blood, and blood vessels. The respiratory system includes the lungs and air passages. Both systems will improve drastically with exercise; however, both systems will also become less efficient with lack of exercise or laziness.
