Sport History

The game of volleyball, originally called “mintonette,” was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan after the invention of basketball only four years before Olympics In 1964, volleyball was introduced to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The First Game July 7th, 1896 - at Springfield College the first game of “Volleyball” was played.

Equipment Official Volleyball: 8.15 to 8.39 inches, and the circumference is 25.5 to 26.5 inches Official Net Height: 7 ft 4 in Official Court Size: The overall measurements for a Volleyball court is 60 feet by 30 feet.
