Paris Region’s PV-Players Confirmed Booming Regional Demand on 9 July 2009 during the Paris Region Agency PV Conference
There has been thriving demand in the Paris Region especially in the 6 last months: Sipperec coordinates the demand for 80 cities: 5 PV rooftop installations on public buildings in the last 2 years, and 3 new ones only this summer. June 2009: first steps of a 4,000 m2 project at Orly International Airport Renault-Nissan (automotible industry) plans for more than 400,000 m2 of rooftop installations in Europe, of which 115,000 m2 in the Paris Region alone Positive feedback of a farming rooftop installation based in the Paris Region, where more than half of the land is devoted to agriculture.
Paris Region R&D players concentrate mainly on Thin-Film (e.g. IRDEP with EDF and LPICM with Total) & the integration of BIPV modules (e.g. Saint-Gobain Labs & the Advancity Cluster) in comparison with other regions.
Applications for Paris Region Council grants for rooftop projects in the first semester 2009 doubled compared with the entire year 2008
