There are two types of Photo Mosaics

This Photo-Mosaic was created by Robert Silvers by taking an image, organizing it into thousands of small rectangles and replacing each rectangle with a photograph that has similar color and value qualities.

This Photo-Mosaic is also considered to be Photographic Collage. It was created by David Hockney by taking many photographs and attaching them to create one whole image. Each of the photographs is of a small portion of the subject, attached they will create the entire subject.

HOW TOCreate your Own

Robert Silvers style Photo Mosaic • Take a subject/photograph as your larger overall

image.• Take many photographs of subjects related to

your larger image.• In Photoshop edit your larger photo and create a

grid over the image.• Place your related photographs on top of the

grid and merge those layers into one.• Select areas of your larger image, switch to your

merged layer and edit areas to match your larger image in color, contrast and opacity.
