CALADH NUAFrom Southern Ireland, Caladh Nua returns to the U.S. in March 2015 having recently performed around the globe with stops in Paris, Vienna, Copenhagen and Berlin. Regularly broadcast on RTE, the BBC, and American Public Radio, Caladh Nua has “plenty of flair.”- Irish Music Magazine. Doon Productions.

CHRISTOPHER O’RILEYIn Out of My Hands, the acclaimed American pianist and host of NPR’s popular program From the Top, dives into repertoire of Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Ravel, and Stravinsky in a storm of music heralded by Rolling Stone for its “unblinking virtuosity.” Mr. O’Riley also maintains a busy schedule of classical recitals and chamber music performances. His 14-15 classical offerings include a Liszt inspired program and a collaboration with the acclaimed Argentine composer/pianist Pablo Ziegler. DANÚHailing from County Waterford in Ireland and winners of the Irish Music Magazine Award and the BBC Award, Danú seamlessly blends Ancient Irish music with stunning new repertoire. March 2015 is the group’s 20th anniversary and they’ll mark the occasion with a tour of America with special guests. Enormously popular, the Denver Post called the Danú performance “heavenly.” Schanachie.

DANÚ: A CHRISTMAS GATHERINGWinner of major awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, Danú returns to the U.S. in December 2014 with a glorious new celebration of Christmas from their homeland. “Stirs the blood and lifts the heart.”- Irish Music Magazine.

ETHELOn the leading edge of the contemporary music scene - this fearless quartet has performed world wide and collaborated with the most important artists of our time. The featured solo program in the coming season is 1984 - which includes music of Don Byron, Arvo Pärt, and others. ETHEL’s Documerica is a brilliant synthesis of newly commissioned quartets with images from the EPA’s Documerica photography archive. Cantaloupe Music, Innova.

ETHEL & KAKI KING …And Other StoriesAn electrifying immersion in brilliant instrumental skill, rich sonic adventures, and flights of fantastic storytelling. The collaboration is anchored by a ground-breaking re-imagining of Bach’s masterful Brandenburg Concerto #6 and also includes works from ETHEL’s repertoire by Phil Kline and John Zorn. Original works by Kaki King and a new composition for ETHEL & Kaki King by Serbian composer Aleksandra Vrebalov round out the program.

ETHEL & ROBERT MIRABALMusic of the SunETHEL and GRAMMY® winner Robert Mirabal present a program inspired by the sun mythology of Native America. Using strings, handmade Native American flutes (Tdoop - Pootse) and drums (Mooloo), as well as the spirited voices of students and community members, ETHEL and Robert Mirabal unite to create a cross-cultural and moving concert event.

THE HOT CLUB OF SAN FRANCISCOThe HCSF captures the brilliant technique of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, and the original Hot Club de France. No ensemble matches the virtuosity and spirit of that period in jazz better than the Hot Club of San Francisco. Solo concerts in-clude Cool Yule for the holidays, Postcards from Gypsyland and Meet Me in Paris. Club Records, Lost Wax Records, Reference Records, Azica Records.

HOT CLUB OF SAN FRANCISCOCinema VivantContinuing an early 20th century European Gypsy tradition, HCSF presents Cinema Vivant, a captivating concert of silent B&W films scored with live gypsy swing. The program includes films by Charles Bowers and animation pioneer Ladislaw Starewicz.

JULIE FOWLISMusic of the Scottish IslesGaelic singer Julie Fowlis, BBC Award winner and Scottish cultural ambassador, returns to America in the fall of 2014 with her ensemble of virtuoso players. Featured on the soundtrack for the Disney PIXAR film Brave, BBC Radio calls a Julie Fowlis performance “beautiful messages from another world.” Shoeshine Records, Machair Records, Macmeanmna Records, Walt Disney Records.

Winner of the Avery Fisher Award and with acclaimed appearances on every major international concert stage, Matt Haimovitz offers this intimate concert in 14-15. Highlights include selections from the Bach Suites and new repertoire by leading contemporary composers such as Philip Glass and John Corigliano. Oxingale, Deutsche Grammophon, SONY.

MATT HAIMOVITZ & CHRISTOPHER O’RILEYShuffle.Play.Listen.Haimovitz and O’Riley join together to explore the lyrical and virtuosic properties of their instruments in a collaboration that crosses in and out of the classical and pop music genres. The program showcases their talents as collaborators and soloists in music of Rachmaninoff and Gabrielli, Radiohead and Arcade Fire, Martinu and Stravinsky. Oxingale Records.

Rani Arbo & daisy mayhemAmerican SpiritualThis great roots band debuts a new program culled from the deepest parts of the spirit. From a lush setting of Tennyson’s Crossing the Bar to old American shape note hymns, prison work songs, blues, gospel and original compositions, American Spiritual draws from 200 years of roots music to find songs that uplift and connect. TURTLE ISLAND QUARTET Two time GRAMMY® winners, Turtle Island has been a singular force for over twenty five years in the creation of bold, new trends in the blending worlds of jazz and chamber music. The 2014-2015 season includes two solo programs, Birth of the Cool, and a world holiday program, A Festival of Lights. Windham Hill, Chandos, Koch, BMG, Telarc.

TURTLE ISLAND QUARTET & NELLIE McKAY A Flower is a Lovesome ThingContinuing in the fall of 2014, the Turtle Island Quartet collaborates with singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Nellie McKay on a program of Billie Holiday, Billy Strayhorn, and the Weimar cabaret of the 1920’s. Original works by Nellie McKay and a solo Turtle Island set complete this marvelous combination.

VOICEVOICE, from Oxford, England, explores gorgeous repertoire of the early masters such as Hildegard von Bingen, world folk song arrangements, and contemporary compositions. They have appeared at a diverse mix of venues including the prestigious Royal Festival Hall, the National Portrait Gallery, The London Bridge and the 2012 Cultural Olympiad. The ensemble returns in February 2015 with a program of love-inspired songs titled If Music Be the Food of Love.

CIRK LA PUTYKA Slapstick SonataThis athletic collective of artists from Prague tours in the U.S. for the first time in the fall of 2014. In a Prague warehouse, the overnight workers shed their bland existence in a flurry of color, acrobatics, comedy, and physical theater. “Spend 90 minutes on the edge of your seat alternating between hysterical laughter and awe!” - Helsingin Sanomat.
