3.1. Definitions
The following definitions shall apply throughout the specification:- bi-directional Valve
valve designed for blocking the fluid in both downstream and upstream directions
- uni-directional Valvevalve designed for blocking the flow in one direction only

5. General Requirements
5.1 All valve shall be new. No valve recondition will be accepted
5.2 Valve from stock will be considered since the manufacturing not longer than two (2) years.Assessment and inspection shall be conducted, to ensure that the valve is still in good condition,especially for internal trim and elastomeric part. Certificate shall be obtained from third party.
5.3 Ball, Check, Gate and Plug valves shall have valid license of API 6D monogram and other valvesshall have quality certificates from related Standard and Code.
5.4 Valve manufacturing shall be done in origin country. Otherwise, vendor shall provide letter ofguarantee from head quarter/manufacturer. Company recerves right to investigate and visitfactory.
5.5 Any elastomeric seal component in dynamic application must prevent seal extrusion, galvaniccorrosion and sticking that could prevent it‘s efficiency after a long stand period. Elastomeric sealmaterial shall be explosive decompression resistance grade (AED), for valve rating equal orbigger than ANSI-600#
5.6 Block valves shall be equiped with closed / open position indicator. Locking device is an optional,in case required by the system.
5.7 Valve marking shall be in accordance with API 6D or MSS SP-25 whenever applicable.
5.8 Valve shall be handled and stored as per manufacture recommendation. End protectors meanhard plastic or other suitable material for cap / cover of both end of valve shall be fitted, to avoiddebrish ingress. Removing protector is not allowed, except for valve installation or inspection.
5.9 Socket weld end valve, normally for size 1 ½‖ and smaller, shall be provided with pipe nipple, 4‖length, schedule to follow line pipe class. Nipple and valve body shall be welded in factory beforevalve assembly. The purpose is to protect elastomeric seal material from overheating duringwelding joint. Otherwise, valve with extended body can be used.
5.10 Valve weight more than 25 kg should be furnished with lifting lug. Valve support is an optionalwhen required.
5.11 Ball valve size equal or larger than 8‖ shall be provided with vent / drain on body cavity.
5.12 Flow direction indicator shall be cast, stamped, forged or engraved on the valve body for globeand check valve. The exception shall comply to Standard and Code.
5.13 DIB ball valves (DIB 1 or 2) shall be stamped as per API 6D.

6. End Connections
6.1. General
- Valve end connections that connected to equipment shall also comply with the requirementsof the relevant equipment data sheet
- Valve end connections shall be in accordance with General Piping Design Specification Doc
No. PHEONWJ-M-SPE-0024
6.2. Flanges
- Class 900# flanges & below shall be RF, except where specified otherwise on thePiping Class Data Sheets or P & IDs. Class 1500# flanges & above shall be RTJ.
- Pressure / Temperature ratings of flanges ½" NPS through 24" NPS are based on the
latest version of the ASME B16.5. Pressure/Temperature ratings of flangedcomponents larger than 24" are based on ASME B16.47 Series A.
- Flange facings shall be in accordance with ASME B16.5 for RF, FF & RTJ.
- Flange gasket surface finishes shall be in accordance with ASME B46.1 & B16.5 & the
following:- Class 150 RF up to Class 900 RF Smooth finish, roughness between Ra 3.2 & 6.3
µm for spiral wound gasket- Class 150 FF Serrated finish, roughness between Ra 6.3 &
12.5 µm for flat soft gasket- Class 1500 & above RTJ Roughness of gasket groove side wall less than
Ra 1.6 µm
6.3. Welding Ends
BE shall conform to ASME B16.25 / API 5L. PE shall be cut square to the pipe longitudinal axis.
