Friday, July 10
6:00—7:30 PM / Gov’t Docks & Pender Harbour The Pender Harbour Pipe & Drum Band will announce the beginning of the Boat Parade, playing from the deck of a local vessel. Historical wooden and classic boats, and even the local dragon boat team—followed by any visiting or local vessel that wishes to participate—may fall in and follow the Band as they pipe our guests around the harbour past public and private docks and wharfs where the public are invited to come and watch
the parade as it goes by.
7:30—10:00 PM / Millennium Park, Madeira Park
Members of the Sechelt (shíshálh) Nation will
perform a traditional greeting to the visitors and
guests to the area.
8:00—10:00 PM / Pender Harbour School of Music
The Pender Harbour Music Society
(penderharbourmusic.ca) presents an evening
of musical entertainment to welcome the visiting
boaters, and all other visitors, to Pender Harbour.
The event takes place at the Pender Harbour School
of Music adjacent to the Wharf at Madeira Park, and
features professional performing artists from Pender
Harbour. In the line-up are: Mark Brezer – singer,
songwriter, guitarist; Katrina Bishop – singer,
songwriter, pianist; Mark Vance – singer, songwriter,
guitarist; and Kenneth Johnson – composer, producer,
pianist. From this beautiful location, the music will
spill out over the surrounding lawns for all to enjoy
while watching the sunset.
Saturday, July 11
9:00—11:00 AM / McNeil Lake area
Join the Pender Harbour Hiking Club for a
two hour hike (trail map: penderharbour.ca/
event-location-maps.html) consisting of Lazy Boy,
Copper Head and Old Pole Road. Boaters wishing
to participate may look for a ride in front of the
elementary school in Madeira park. Cars will leave
there at 8:45am sharp. Boaters in Garden Bay may
catch a ride at 8:40am meeting at the Rotary Picnic
Shelter between Garden Bay and Hospital Bay.
Anyone with a car may meet us at the end of
Menacher Road by the horse corrals. They will be
leaving there at 9:00am carpooling to the trails.
10:00 AM / Sarah Wray Hall, Irvines Landing Road
This 1930s one-room schoolhouse, once Irvine’s
Landing School, has been restored by volunteers
for community use. Come out and view the historic
displays by Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society
and enjoy the outdoor art competition. Refreshments
will be available. Take the SloCat from the Government
Wharf at Madeira Park to Irvine’s Landing dock and
ride the Wood Duck bus to the hall, minutes away.
10:00 AM—2:00 PM / EarthFair Store (outside)
The Ruby Lake Lagoon Society (lagoonsociety.com)
are hosting a Welcome tent with local information
and a marine display tank. Visit the Iris Griffi th
Interpretive Centre while you are here.
10:00 AM—3:00 PM / Madeira Park School Grounds
Join us at the Arts & Craft Centre on the Elementary
School Grounds at Madeira Park, hosted by the
Pender Harbour Fall Fair Society. Crafts of all kinds,
and lots to see. Find your long sought piece or just
enjoy the browsing and company of a market place.
10:00 AM—3:00 PM / Gov’t Wharf at Madeira ParkTake a walk to the Government Wharf in Madeira Park and take in the collection of heritage boats moored along the docks. This includes a select number of wooden row boats (special thanks to Rick Crook and Bruce Thompson) and maritime artifacts on display (special thanks to Daniel Chat with the captain and crew and learn about the history, if not stories, of these wonderful old and cherished vessels.
11:00 AM—2:00 PM / Outside Sarah Wray Hall,
Irvines Landing Road
Enter this art competition with your children
or grandchildren. No experience is necessary.
Draw “What Pender Harbour Means to Me”
– no visual aids please. Prizes will be given in
three categories (under 12, 13-18, adults). Art
supplies will be provided for the 18s and under.
Adults: bring your own chair, sketch pad and
pencils, pens or charcoal – no paints. Judging will
be at 1:30pm. Register at www.penderharbour.ca/

11:00 AM—11:00 PM / Royal Canadian Legion
The Legion will host on all day open house celebrating
everything Pender Harbour and the Legion. Meat
Draw at 3:00 PM. BBQ Burgers from 5:00 PM on.
Music by Skinny Jimmy & the Preachers.
12:00—2:00 PM / Garden Bay
Join the Garden Bay Sailing Club (gardenbay
sailingclub.com) for a sailboat race around the inner
Pender Harbour. All are welcome and find the club
at their web site: and on VHF channel 6. The course
is set each Saturday race day, and all comers are
welcome. Boats intending to participate should
gather between Mary Island and Garden Peninsular
by 11:45 AM, when the course will be announced.
1:00 PM / Garden Bay Pub docks
Phaedra Lynn Hicks hosts a Stand Up Paddle Board
Yoga Demonstration below the outside patio at the
Garden Bay Pub.
Sunday, July 12
10:00 AM—3:00 PM / Gov’t Wharf at Madeira ParkCome to the docks at Madeira Park to view a tour of local and visiting heritage boats, wooden row boats, and even our local dragon boat. If you ask nicely there might even be an opportunity to ride in one of these
classic row boats.
1:30—2:45 PM / Madeira Park Outdoor Classroom
The Traditional Celtic Big Band will be presenting
a concert at the outdoor classroom at Maderia Park
Harbour. This group of youth musician ages 14–25,
from across the Coast and Canada, come together to
preform a concert of traditional Celtic Music melded
with contemporary music. They are directed by
Iain Fraser and Hamish Napier from Scotland and
James Law, originally from Roberts Creek.
2:00—6:00 PM / Madeira Park
The Pender Harbour Community Hall presents
Live Music Open Mic. Bring your voice, an instrument,
or dancing shoes and join us in celebrating youth
and our talented community. Potluck, popcorn,
and a pop. Bring a dish to share + $2 donation.

Landing are approx. 15min from Madeira Park.
Take the Sunshine Coast Hwy North. Turn left
at Garden Bay Rd (gas station). Use this road
to Hospital and Garden Bay. Or make a slight
right onto Irvines Landing Road. Sarah Wray
Hall is at the intersection at the corner of
Irvines Landing Rd and Hotel Lake Rd.
