Description
The Pharmacy Technician program provides students with the
skills needed to assist pharmacists in the delivery of health care
services to clients in a variety of settings. Students will also
receive instruction that will enable them to sit for state and
national certification exams.
Students will learn the following:
• Information about related careers
• Communication methods in the pharmacy setting
• Safety procedures
• Skills to assist pharmacists in preparing
and dispensing medication
• Maintenance of medication inventory and
inventory control systems
• Information about the administration and
management of a pharmacy practice
Earn dual enrollment with
Reynolds Community College.

Certifications
Students who successfully complete the requirements for the
Pharmacy Technician program will be better prepared to take the
Virginia Board of Pharmacy State Exam or the Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board’s (PTCB) National Certification Exam.
This course is offered at the ACE Center at Highland Springs.
