    The study aimed to determine the implementation

    of Patient and Family Education Standards of Benguet

    State University student nurses at Benguet General

    Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Ward.

    Specifically, it sought to answer the following:

    This study aimed to determine theimplementation of Patient and Family Education

    Standards of Benguet State University studentnurses at Benguet General Hospital Obstetrics andGynecology Ward. Specifically, it aimed to

    determine the Patient and Family Education

    Standards implemented by the Benguet StateUniversity student nurses at Benguet GeneralHospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Ward, in

    terms of: support to patient and family

    participation, meeting of patients ongoing needs,appropriate topics for patient care, and

    consideration of patient and family preferences.

    The descriptive research design and astructured questionnaire are utilized to

    gather the data. The respondents wereforty (40) randomly-selected Level IV

    students of Benguet State University who

    already went on duty at the Obstetrics-Gynecology Ward of Benguet GeneralHospital. The statistical methods used

    were relative frequency and percentage.The study was conducted from February

    to March 2013.

    1. 65% of the respondents implement the support to patient

    and family education aspect of patient and family

    education standards.

    2. 70% of the respondents implement the meeting of

    patients ongoing needs aspect of patient and family

    education.

    3. 74.38% of the respondents implement appropriate topics

    for patient on educating the patient.4. 55.94 of the respondents implement appropriate topics for

    patient care on educating the patients family.

    5. 81.25% of the respondents consider patients preferences

    when implementing patient and family education.6. 69.17% of the respondents consider patients family

    preferences when implementing patient and family

    education.

    Patient and Family Preferences.

    2. Considering the patients preferences when

    implementing patient and family education is thestrength of the Benguet State University student

    nurses, among the other aspects of patient and

    family education.
