Perspectives 97: Kirk McCarthy and Jackie Tileston: Hybrid Vigor

Embed Size (px)

DESCRIPTION

The exhibition documented by this publication is comprised of sculptures by McCarthy and large-scale paintings by Tileston. Both artists employ powdered pigment, color in its most intense and vibrant state, to create abstract works based on organic forms. Both, says the author, bring together complimentary and contrasting elements to create a 'hybrid vigor'. Includes an essay by Lynn M. Herbert and documentation on the artists’ careers. (Exhibition on view May 3 – July 14, 1996)
