We have been to RCR before however this is the first me that we toured the museum. It was scheduled to be a self-guided tour of the museum however upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find out we had a guided tour led by Danny “Chocolate” Myers. Chocolate is well known for his daily radio show on Sirius/ XM NASCAR radio and he is the current curator of the RCR Museum. He was also the gas man on six of the RCR NASCAR Championship teams with Dale Earnhardt as driver. Chocolate provided a lot of inside informaon and details that may not have been known without him as our guide. Aſter the tour of the museum we proceeded over to the RCR Cup Shop with Chocolate connuing as our guide. It proved to be a much different experience than any of our previous visits to RCR. Aſter the tour we enjoyed a fantasc meal at Tricia’s in Lexington, NC. We unfor- tunately had a small group mostly due to the inclement weather received two days earlier but I believe everyone who aended really enjoyed the evening. On February 7th we will be holding our yearly Educaon Night meeng at NC State University. This is always an enjoyable me as we hand out the funds to the different educaonal facilies that we support. We will tour the NC State Library which is an amazing building with a lot of interesng areas including a ro- bot which retrieves the requested books. We are currently working on the details for the main presentaon which will be made by a student or students from NC State University. The Board of Directors will be meeng at 4pm, dinner is planned for 6:30pm, and the awards and program will begin at 7:30pm. If you have not been to Educaon Night in the past I highly recommend that you try to aend this year. NC State has a great campus, the food is fantasc, and it is fulfilling to see the students parcipang as they begin their journey in the plascs industry.
