At Personal Touch, we offer an extensive line of

post-mastectomy products, and a staff of fitting

specialists to satisfy your unique needs. As part of

the University of Michigan Health System, we work

with your healthcare team to assure that you receive

comprehensive, coordinated care.

Your appointment will be in a private, comfortable

setting with personal attention. We suggest you make

an appointment to visit our boutique prior to your

surgery to see our complete line of post-mastectomy

products. You may also want to order a camisole be-

fore your surgery, so you can have it ready after you

leave the hospital. Arrangements can also be made to

obtain a camisole while at the Cancer Center.

You can choose from several brands of products,

with items including breast prostheses, mastectomy

bras, compression garments and fitting accessories.

Our compression garments include both stockings

and lymphedema sleeves. We keep an extensive line

of products in stock, buy may occasionally need to

special-order certain items. As a result, you may not

receive your items at your first appointment.

U-M Orthotics and Prosthetics Center, Your Provider of Choice for Orthotic and Prosthetic Services.

In order to give you the best service possible, all our

products require a new prescription from your physi-

cian. The prescriptions allow us to better determine

which of our many certified practitioners will meet

your needs. We will call you to make an appointment,

usually within 1-2 business days after receipt of your

prescription.

We accept most health insurance plans including

PremierCare, Medicare and Medicaid for physi-

cian-prescribed items. Our call center staff can tell you

if we accept your insurance plan. We obtain all prior

authorizations; however, many products – particularly

those NOT related to mastectomy surgery or certain

specific diagnoses – are not covered. Your practitioner or

fitter may be able to advise you when you come for your

appointment. In those cases, please be prepared to pay

with cash, check or charge when you receive your item.
