Case Scenarios

Liam, a fifth-grader, is having difficulty listing and ordering a given set of decimals. Is he on grade level? What can you do to help him?

When adding fractions with unlike denominators, Kayla will add the numerators and then the denominators together. She is on grade level. In which grade is she, and what interventions would you use?

Fourth-grade Hannah is having trouble calculating areausing the “length times width” formula. Is she on gradelevel? What can you do to help her?

Dylan can add up to three 2-digit numbers. At which grade level is he, and what would you work on next?
