One-Piece Core-BarThe One-Piece Core-Bar Construction of all Pearl Flutes

eliminates many of the wear and tear problems associated

with traditionally constructed flutes. Pearl designed one rod

that extends from the High C key through the F# post result-

ing in an extremely reliable mechanism that plays more com-

fortably, stays in adjustment longer and is easier to service.

Pinless ConstructionThe foundation of every Pearl Flute is our exclusive Pinless

Construction. When this is combined with our bridging

mechanism, it eradicates one of the key problems of tradi-

tional flute construction: Protruding needles that snag cloth-

ing and give easy entry to perspiration and body acids, which

can go on to cause corrosion and binding keys. We overcame

this problem through the use of socket head screws in the un-

derside of the mechanism, thereby eliminating the need for

pins at all. A simple solution for a longstanding problem.

contemporary drawn tone holes.

Our Cantabile series makes use of traditional handmade features, such as complete .925 Silver,

French pointed arms and drawn tone holes. The Silver keys are exceptionally nimble

Grenaditte which has similar acoustic property as

wood, and is impervious to temperature and

moisture changes.

Enhancements – Please enquire about any special requests. Our Japanese craftsmen are artisan flute makers,

and we hope to be able to accommodate the needs of even the most discerning professional.

The essential acoustical element of every flute is the

headjoint. For this reason alone, every headjoint must be

handmade. This endeavor is left to the most accom-

plished craftsmen at Pearl. However, flute-making expe-

rience is not the only skill needed for this work, but an

understanding of the art of flute playing is also neces-

sary. For this reason, all of our headjoint makers are

accomplished flautists. Having experienced years of both

playing and listening, they now hone their craft with a

view to concert performance and artistic expression.

PHN-1This is our traditional headjoint and the origin of the

Pearl sound. It combines a warm, rich tone with excel-

lent projection. Moderate over and under-cutting com-

pliment its elegant and refined tone for smooth articula-

tion and responsive performance.

PHN-2This headjoint is similar to the PHN-1, but with slightly

more undercutting to decrease the resistance. The result

is a easier blowing headjoint.

FORTEThis headjoint is a crowning achievement for Pearl. This

headjoint is designed for large orchestras and concert

halls. The Forte is very responsive, and produces a dark

centered tone and enables a wide dynamic spectrum

throughout the entire range of the instrument.

VIVOThis headjoint combines its own, graceful embouchure

plate with modern undercutting techniques. It is easily

controlled and produces an open and clear tone. The Vivo

sound is silky smooth and ideal for chamber situations.

VIVACEThis headjoint features a finely crafted combination of

our Forte and Vivo cuts offering slightly more resistance

than Forte.

CALOREA perfect blend of powerful tone, effortless articulation

and exceptional dynamic range.

able in three different carats - 10K, 14K and 18K. As the

carat level increases, the sounds gets more warm and

rich, and Gold never tarnishes. Our craftsman can also

arrange these different metals to customize a headjoint

into many unique creations. Platinum is a rare material,

and when used with Gold or Silver, produces enhanced
