Peak Performance - Who We AreA glance into the program itself!

Our Mission◇ Improve first year and transfer students’ academic

and social success by increasing their confidence in mathematics, helping them improve their math placement, and providing transition-to-college support.

◇ Our Peer Math Coaches deliver an individualized mathematics tutoring in a flexible, non-residential environment, and ‘college knowledge’ mentoring aimed at fostering strong connections to NAU and easing students’ transition from high school to college.

How does the program work?◇ Flexible, online program◇ Students work with a convenient schedule and

from their own homes◇ We match students with coaches who have similar

degree interests◇ Customized, adaptive learning modules through

MyMathLab

Position Requirements◇ Enrolled at NAU and have access to internet and a

computer for the summer of 2016◇ Have a 3.0 GPA or higher◇ Completed MAT 125/transfer equivalent or higher◇ Willing to work 15-25 hours per week during the summer◇ Available to begin working approximately June 1st, 2016

through the middle of August, 2016◇ Values driven - get personal satisfaction in helping others

Position Responsibilities◇ Provide individual tutoring through Google Hangouts.◇ Help students set achievable goals and motivate them to

meet those goals◇ Attend weekly phone conference calls with team leaders◇ Maintain accurate records of student outreach and

contact◇ Submit timely payroll and student activity reports◇ Partake in making a difference and connecting with

incoming college students!

Interviewing

2 step process:A. Group interview, in

person (all qualified applicants); bring a paper copy of your resume and cover letter.

B. Individual interview (invitation only) with program coordinators

Let’s review!1. Application

- Complete the online application by Sunday, October 18th. Submit professional reference recommendation by Monday, October 26th.

2. Interview

- 2-stages, group interview (Oct. 27 & 28 from 6-8 pm) and individual interview. Need to bring paper copy of your resume and cover letter.

3. Training

- You’re hired! You will go through our 10-week math learning program during the Spring semester. Starts February 22nd, from 5-7 pm.

4. Begin Mentoring

- Work from June 1st, 2016 through the middle of August, 2016.
