HASHTAG #PDXFF17

A PERCENTAGE OF OUR TICKET SALES WILL BENEFIT THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF PORTLAND AND THE WILD SALMON CENTER.

Governor Kate Brown has declared Oregon the State of “Independent Film” and Mayor Ted Wheeler has proclaimed Portland the “City of Film” during our Festival. We are screening over 152 films from around the world, 89 of which were directed by women (59%) and 97% (148 films) of films came from paid submissions! Here are some of the highlights:

• You can catch a Portland-made film every day.

• November is National American Indian Heritage Month. Each day, a film will be shown that highlights current Indigenous Voices.

• A percentage of our ticket sales this year will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Portland and the Wild Salmon Center.

Specal thanks to Comcast and all of our sponsors including Koerner Camera, SAG-AFTRA, ABI Insurance, Whole Foods, Portland Monthly, Crank PDX,

The Oregonian, Plum Tree Mortgage, KINK FM, Pro Photo Supply and others on page 31.

High fives to all of the amazing volunteers, staff, filmmakers, speakers and jury that make this Festival possible!

Whatever film genre you prefer, the Portland Film Festival has great movies to offer everyone. Grab a craft beer, popcorn and enjoy!

See you at the movies!

SAG-AFTRA brings together two great labor unions: Screen Actors Guild and the American Federationof Television and Radio Artists. Both were formed in the turmoil of the 1930’s with rich histories offighting for and securing the strongest protections for media artists. Our members united to formthe successor union in order to preserve those hard-won rights and to continue the struggle toextend and expand those protections into the 21st century and beyond. Across the country,we represent 160,000 members and in Portland, we represent actors on the set of EverythingSucks, The Librarians, Here, Now, past and current theatrical productions and broadcastersat KGW Channel 8 news.

We are actors, announcers, broadcast journalists, dancers, djs, news writers, news directors, programhosts, puppeteers, recording artists, singers, stunt performers, voiceover artists and other mediaprofessionals. Our work is seen and heard in theaters, on television and radio, sound recordings, the internet, games, and mobile devices. You see us and hear us on all media distribution platforms. We are the faces and the voices that entertain and inform America and the world.

SAG-AFTRA is committed to organizing all work done under our jurisdictions; negotiating the best wages, working conditions, and health, and pension benefits; preserving and expanding members’ workopportunities; vigorously enforcing our contracts; and protecting members againstunauthorized use of their work.
