Participants will be asked to use the informal polling system to determine who is using technology in their classrooms at the present time. Participants will have a group discussion to describe how they are currently using technology in their classrooms.

Participants will view a slide show presentation of innovative ways and programs to use in their classrooms. There will also be a video clip (approximately 4 min) for the participants to view along with the slide show presentation.

After viewing the slide show presentation, participants will collaborate through discussion on ideas of how they would like to use or could use the ideas presented. Participants will provide feedback on the workshop and complete a survey.

Extension Idea:

Participants will create a lesson plan for the classroom that incorporates a new method of technology.

Teaching Tips:

Give examples of using technology in the classroom. This will lead the participants to having some background knowledge of how they can possibly use the technology presented in the classroom.

Encourage teachers to have an open mind when approaching technology in their lessons.

Remind teachers to look for innovative ideas and approaches to teaching lessons instead of just updating previously taught activities.

Extra:

Participants will complete a survey based on the effectiveness of the information presented during the workshop.
