Recycling UPDATE: It’s great to see so much recycling happening with our recycling trailer, keep up the good work! Please remember to rinse your plastic containers. The trailer goes to Cody on Wednesdays, depending on how full it is. It may be best to avoid recy-cling on Wednesdays. We are need of 40-45 gallon trash bags for the non-recyclables at the trailer. If you would like to donate some, please drop them off at the library or town hall. We are still looking for people to volunteer for one month increments. Duties are to take out the trash for the non-recyclables and keep the area tidy. Please contact DeAnne Jensen if you would like to volunteer at 868-2210 or [email protected].

Attention Meeteetse Residents: Engineering firm Woodard & Curran has mailed out access agree-ment request letters to landowners that have property along the Greybull River, Wood River and Dry Creek areas. Please keep an eye out for these mailers in your mailbox, as they should be arriving soon. The Meeteetse Conservation District is working in partnership with Woodard & Curran Engi-neering Firm to conduct the Greybull River Level I Watershed Study. If you have any questions about the mailers or the Level I Watershed Study please contact the Meeteetse Conservation Dis-trict. The purpose of the Greybull River Level I Watershed Study is to identify watershed issues relat-ed to water quality, water quantity, irrigation infrastructure, funding for water projects and more. Friends of the Library will meet Oct. 16 at 10:00 am. Meeteetse Branch Library will be CLOSED Friday, Oct. 20 for Countywide Staff Training. Just a couple weeks left to get those recipes in! Friends of the Library would love to have your favor-ite family recipes, recipes from, or inspired by, a book and recipes "in honor of" a loved one. Book Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 19. We're reading "A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time". There are extra books at the library - come and pick up a book and read along with us. Come on the 19th and tell us what you thought of the book. We love having new readers join us. Teen Halloween Stop Motion Studio! Thursday, Oct. 19 4:00-6:00. Watch "Nightmare Before Christ-mas". eat some spooky snacks and create your own stop motion movie. (Make your movie even bet-ter - Bring figurines and props from home to add to what we've got) Senior Movie for the "Dine and Dash Movie Club" at the Seniors will be Monday, Oct. 23. Eat lunch and we'll leave the Senior Center at 12:30 - a little bit earlier so John has time to get set up for his Rec Kids. Family Food Fair!! October is a month of food at the library! Youth Flag Football - Thursdays 3:30 – 4:30pm. Meet on the back playground at the school.

Please register at the Rec. District office. Contact John at 868-2603 for more information. Dance Fitness is on Tuesdays at 7:00pm at the After School Program Building. $3.00 per session for non-members. Adult Weight Lifting at the school weight room takes place Monday – Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30pm. The cost is $25 for 30 times for non-members. This pass may also be used in the Rec Center Fitness Room. Please sign up at the Recreation District office. Yoga: Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30-8:30am at the After School Program Building. The cost is $5.00 per session for non-members. NOTICE: Today’s postponed Yoga class will take place on Friday 10/13 from 7:30-8:30am. We provide weekly transportation for members of our community. The bus goes to Cody on Thurs-days leaving at 8:30am. Please schedule your trip with the Senior Center (868-2622) or the Rec (868-2603) by Wednesday if you would like to make the trip.

Park Co. School Dist. 16, Meeteetse, WY, has the following coaching positions opening for the 2017-18 school year. Parent / Teacher conferences will be held Thursday, October 19th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Please come join us for a bite to eat and to celebrate your students. As part of our Parent / Teacher conferences, we will be conducting parent and community polling interviews regarding our 4 ½ day school schedule. Each interview will take approximately 3 minutes. Questions will be sound like: “In your opinion, what are advantages to a 4 day week?,” or “How strongly do you feel that we should stick with a 4 ½ day week?” We are truly interested in gaining your insights as we review our schedule options. Make sure to visit with Mr. Ogden or Mr. Wheeler that night to record your responses. Also during Parent / Teacher conferences, we will have a video playing that will show you how to login to Infinite Campus to check your student’s grades and attendance. Melvin Laverne Maudlin. WWII Army. Entered Apr 8, 1944 - don’t know his release date. Born May 26, 1911 - died in CO Aug 7, 2001. His parents were Melvin L and Ivy Colista Endicott Maudlin. He was maied to Isabell Thorn Maudlin who was a grade school teacher here Ernest Rudolf May Jr. WWII. Army. 1st Lt Demolitions Instructor. Entered June 19, 1942 - discharged July 1944. Born Lead SD Dec 18, 1909 - died May 25, 1965 Gene Medina. Army WWII. 139th Airborne Engineer Battalion - Corps of En-gineers. Entered Mar 10, 1943 - discharged Nov 1945. Gene served in France, Italy and Germany. The 139th parachuted into France and Italy and were transported in Gliders to Holland. Their casualties were high. Trained to defuse explosives and blow up buildings and bridges. Gene stayed and worked summers with brother Frank Medina Sr until he enlisted in 1943 ~Researched by Kathleen Holtzer

Meeteetse Resident - a person who has a Meeteetse mailing address and therefore does not need a town permit.

Non-Meeteetse Resident - is a person whose mailing address is not in Meeteetse and therefore will need to purchase a town per-

mit. A town permit is $5 per day and this will be acquired by the town for you, by the MVC.
