Optimized for steel, stainless steel and aluminium, it maximizes productivity through high metal cutting efficiency and machine utilization and is designed for a fast and problem−free drilling. With excellent chip evacuation in long and short chipping materials, CoroDrill 860 provides green light machining at high penetration rates.

Coolant

Coolant supply is important for successful performance in drilling.

The coolant supply influences:

• Chip evacuation

• Hole quality

• Tool life

Internal coolantInternal coolant is always preferred to avoid chip jamming, especially in long chipping materials and when drilling deeper holes (4-5 x DC). Should always be used for hole depths larger than 3 x DC.

A horizontal drill should have a flow of coolant coming out of the drill without any downward drop for at least 30 cm (11.81 inch).

Can be reconditioned to its original specification up to 3 times. Contact your local Sandvik Coromant represen-tative for more information.

Tool run-outMinimum tool run-out is essential for successful drilling. The run-out should not exceed 0.02mm in order to achieve:

• close hole tolerance and straightness

• good surface finish

• long and consistent tool life
