2014-2015 “I thank my God every time I remember you.” Philippians 1:3 Dear Friends of LASE: Over the years, thousands of children’s lives have been impacted by the ministry of Lutheran Association for Special Education. The children have learned when learning was not easy. They have developed productive lives. They have learned to learn on their own. Most importantly, they have come to know Jesus as their loving savior. The fine faculty and staff of LASE are the main reasons for its success. Their hard work and their love for the children in their care provide an environment where the children can grow in their understanding of the world as well as understanding the Gospel. The success of LASE is also due to many others who work behind the scenes volunteering at the office and at our events to support the teachers and staff. Funds raised at our events provide the teachers with the resources and support needed to reach each child. The generosity of the many individuals who give regularly to LASE is also a critical source of support to the teachers and children. Despite the challenges of the last several months, LASE has continued to thrive and even expand its ministry among the Lutheran Schools of the St. Louis area. Special thanks goes out to Chris Tomlinson, our Acting Director, and to Board Members who have stepped up to take on additional tasks to keep LASE strong. “I thank my God every time I remember you.” Philippians 1:3

Dear Friends of LASE:

Over the years, thousands of children’s lives have been impacted by the ministry of Lutheran Association for Special Education.

Thanks for believing in LASE and for caring for our children.

In Christ,

Dr. Joe Bordeaux, LASE Board Chair

The LASE DifferenceThe defining factor of the uniqueness of the LASE ministry is the collaboration of the LASE team of experts with principals, teachers, parents and students in the faith based education setting. Alicia Klug, Principal of Word of Life Lutheran School states, “LASE is a highly influential and prevalent part of our school. The LASE staff exhibits genuine care and concern for all of our students. It is apparent that they have serving hearts as they help our students to grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually. We thank God for the blessing that LASE is to Word of Life Lutheran School!”

LASE MISSIONSTATEMENTLutheran Association for Special Education will assist and support schools to address the cognitive, social and spiritual development of children with special needs, so they may fully enjoy their God-given potential.

“I have had many parents this

year especially appreciate that

there is not a “one size fits

all” attitude with LASE or our

school. They very much appreciate

that we can make a plan that fits

each child.”

“One of the most meaningful notes a parent wrote to me included thanks for helping her daughter learn that she can do the work herself and teaching her how and when to ask for help.”

“School is like gym for your brain.”

“A mother told me her son never wanted to pick up a book to read unless he had to do it. When she first saw him pick up a

book to read on his own, she had tears in her eyes. She had always loved to read and wanted to share that with her son.”
