Why in Palawan?
• Palawan is priority for bio-diversity conservation being declared as MAB Reserve by UN
• Palawan is major tourist destination in the country and with increasing tourist arrivals
• Few islands are connected to the central energy grid
• More island-resorts are using diesel generator for energy supply which is harmful to the environment
• Rising demand for comfort and therefore, increasing fossil fuel burning
