“Let’s press on in faith!”   Michael & Christy

August will be a month of coming and going.

We will send off our team to the NT and our friend Kelly will bereturning to Australia from 2 years in Kazakhstan. This week shesent an email informing us of her latest happenings and asking ourchurch to pray for specific things. Here are some extracts from the email:

Summer is here and it is hot! Imagine the hottest Melbourne day and stretchthat out over 3 months. That’s what it feels like to me. Today is cooler. It isonly going to reach 36C.

It has been a busy few months with teams and visitors from Australia,Germany, Holland, Scotland and Northern Ireland. And best of all my parentscame for three weeks.

I have been busy teaching but also managing the relocation of the librarydownstairs. It is almost complete but it was a massive job. Last week we did afour-day camp at an orphanage with the Irish team.

Many other things have happened in the past few months including a trip toKyrgyzstan and Issyk-Kul, dinner with the British Ambassador, celebratingmy good friend’s wedding, and a fantastic retreat with an Australian team.

I finish my classes this Thursday and then only have a few loose ends to tie upin the library in the following 3 weeks. To include saying goodbyes and amassive clean up of my apartment.

I have booked my tickets home and as long as I get an Uzbek visa I will leave

Shymkent in less than 4 weeks and travel to Uzbekistan. Then I head off toTurkey for a week of rest with friends before I arrive back in Australia in lateAugust.

Here are her praise and prayer points…

Thanks for the visiting teams and the help they have provided (physical, emotional and spiritual)!

For all the goodbyes to students that I need to make. Pray that I get goodquality time with them and get to share the Good News with them one lasttime.

Pray that when I’m in Uzbekistan I will get an opportunity to see my friendKamilla who moved there recently without saying goodbye.

Pray for a good inspection of the apartment with my landlord. Pray that I canget all things finished in the library that need to be done to hand it over.

Pray for my close local and foreign friends (my ex housemate, my teammateand the physio). I will miss their encouragement, friendship and advicegreatly and I know my leaving will be hard for them too.

Pray for safety as I travel and for re-entry into Australia. Pray that as I reflecton the past two years and look forward to the future he will guide my stepsand lead me to what is next!

Join us as we pray for Kelly. We know how hard wrapping up a ministry can be.

Love…
