WELLBEING NEWS

This term I am pleased to be back at Wattleview. The first day back Lucy and I received a lovely welcome and had catch ups with many enthusiastic kids we got to know last year – and met lots of new students we hadn’t spoken to yet. This is such a friendly school and it’s impossible to walk around the grounds without having students stop for a chat, which I love. It has been really awesome to get to know the staff, kids and lots of parents over the past year.

Should you like to come and have a chat about your child, I am at school on Thursday and Friday in the Wellbeing room where the 3/4s are this year. The timetable gets very full but I will endeavor to catch up with all of the children referred to me. Referral and consent forms are available at the office and can also be returned there.

This year I thought I would also post some resources about parenting as it is often described as the toughest job there is – which of course can also be the most rewarding. A lot of the infor-mation I forward comes from the Australian Childhood Foundation and their newest booklet is rich in information should you like to spend some time on it. If you would like this amazing free (and amazing its free!!) resource, I can be contacted on the email below.

As a bit of background information, Lucy, my Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is 7 and is a gently friendly dog who is a qualified Therapy Dog. She comes with me most days and really enjoys being with the kids and has that lovely quality dogs have of acceptance no matter what mood/ appearance/ problem we may have that day.

I would love to meet more parents this year generally, and look forward to meeting lots of new families joining the school community through Foundation.
