VIBRATION ANALYSIS Verify the health status of your CTG! The Paul Wurth Chute Transmission Gear used on Bell Less Top® charging systems is an essential equipment to ensure correct burdening of your blast furnace. Concerns related to the highly loaded rotation slewing bearing entrain costly stoppages and production losses. Therefore, Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis allows you to check the health status of this vital piece of equipment. The Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis is an analysis service tailored to the operating conditions of the Chute Transmission Gear’s main rotation bearing. It detects critical vibration phenomena at an early stage allowing efficient planning of preventive maintenance and avoiding unnecessary downtimes related to the Chute Transmission Gear. Features The Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis offers: Monitoring of the mechanical behaviour of the main rotation bearing. Detecting anomalies at an early stage. Easy measurement on site without BF shutdown (charging must be interrupted temporarily). Long-term knowledge of the CTG health status by executing periodic measurements. Detailed vibration analysis report. Your benefits The Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis focusses on the health state of the main rotation bearing of the CTG which is considered as the most loaded part: This bearing is subject to high, irregular loads during material discharge. In case of failure, a long and costly BF shutdown is necessary to exchange the CTG. Choosing Paul Wurth Vibration analysis, because… Early fault and anomaly detection allow preventive maintenance. Avoidance of unplanned BF stops increases availability PAUL WURTH SERVICING VIBRATIONANALYSIS

an essential equipment to ensure correct

burdening of your blast furnace.

Concerns related to the highly loaded

rotation slewing bearing entrain costly

stoppages and production losses.

Therefore, Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis

allows you to check the health status of this

vital piece of equipment.

The Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis is an analysis service tailored to the operating conditions of the Chute Transmission Gear’s main rotation bearing. It detects critical vibration phenomena at an early stage allowing efficient planning of preventive maintenance and avoiding unnecessary downtimes related to the Chute Transmission Gear.

expert Paul Wurth know-how

The Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis is the result of a continuous improvement process, aiming to increase the availability of the Bell Less Top equipment. The system is based on Paul Wurth’s long-term experience in the field of blast furnace charging systems.

The in-house developed algorithm has proven its capabilities during many vibration analyses executed with fixed vibration acquisition systems installed on two test rigs in Luxembourg.

A multitude of vibration analyses for customers have been executed on site.

The analysis of the vibration frequencies is based on three different analysis methods:

Customised vibration analysis

An in-house developed algorithm customised for the vibrations analysis of the Chute Transmission bearing allows the extraction and the interpretation of the measured bearing vibration information.

It has especially been conceived to analyse vibrations at low rotation speeds as they occur in Paul Wurth Chute Transmission Gears.

Combined with other process data such as temperatures and motor current consumption, the Paul Wurth Vibration Analysis informs you about the current status of your gearbox.
