My role included: design and innovation of new constructional concepts; trend research and design of artwork graphics; direct client interaction in both briefings and concept presentations; detail design of new concepts for manufacture in conjunction with production and technical staff; problem solving of new and existing designs for manufacture suitability. 2007 Work Experience at Gensler, London, a global architecture, design, planning and consultancy firm I spent time in the architecture department and the design studio, shadowing employees and creating concept designs to their real world project briefs. I also prepared and gave a tutorial on Sketchup 3D CAD software, which the planning office had not encountered before. Loughborough Students Label Magazine In my second year I was a volunteer member of the design team for the campus magazine, Label. I had responsibility for the graphic design of several articles on each fortnightly magazine, which helped to develop my knowledge of graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite software and time management. GENERAL EXPERIENCE

2006-2011 Part Time Job, Pipers Restaurant

I had a part time job as a waiter at a local restaurant. In 2009 my role was enhanced to become a shift supervisor, running the front of house team for busy evening sittings. I also completed book keeping for the business on a quarterly basis, giving me experience of commercial accountancy and cash flow.

Voluntary Work, North West Childrens Support Group

Since my early teens I have volunteered for a local charity in my spare time and holidays, raising funds throughout the year and then caring for disabled children for day trips and a week long residential holidayin the summer.

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

New Designers Exhibition 2014

My final year major project was selected by Loughborough Design School as one of the sixteen top projects to represent the school at New Designers Exhibition in London.

Design Week 2014 – Molson Coors Brief

Molson Coors provided a brief to redesign the premium beer drinking experience through packaging fora week long intensive project. The resulting work was awarded second place in the design week awards, and the company has elected to retain the IP on the work.

James Dyson Foundation Award

I was awarded a James Dyson Foundation bursary towards my major project prototyping costs, grantedto projects with a propensity for innovation or inventiveness.

RSA Student Design Awards 2013/14

Work completed in response to the Future of the Workplace brief for the 2013/14 RSA awards was chosen by Loughborough Design School as one of their selected entries to the awards.

School Awards

At school I took part in both the Young Enterprise Award Scheme, reaching the regional finals, and the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Scheme.
