Some recent successes include MOVIE TALK – a 10 part series of intimate biographical portraits featuring Irelands most talented movie stars, producers, writers and directors; Also a major three part series titled “21 st CENTURY RAILWAY – A modern history of railways in Ireland” commissioned by RTE; WAITING FOR HOULIHAN, a single one-hour 'Arts Lives' documentary on Con Houlihan, sports writer and literary populist extraordinaire, made for RTE and nominated for an IFTA; SECRET SIGHTS - a six part series on previously undiscovered secrets of Irish history, broadcast to wide critical acclaim on RTE; IRONING THE LAND - a six part documentary series on Ireland's railways since their arrival in Ireland in1834, broadcast in Ireland and sold internationally; MARSH TO THE SKIES – a television history of Shannon Airport (50 th Anniversary) which also featured the secret Irish/American alliance that gave American access to Shannon Airport during the ‘Cold War’ period, made for RTE and Discovery networks; THE IRISH IN HOLLYWOOD – a documentary “special” on the cultural impact that the Irish have had on the famous Film Town, made for TV3 with BAI funding; BLOOMSDAY, a documentary celebrating James Joyce’s Ulysses, broadcast in Ireland and sold internationally; Also produced PRIME TIME, Ireland’s national flagship current affairs show and the successful food show CORRIGAN KNOWS FOOD. Paul has worked across most disciplines in the film/television industry over the past 25 years both in Ireland and overseas variously performing the role of director, producer, series producer, production executive, editor, writer, covering genres such as biography, natural history, wildlife, food & lifestyle, current affairs and produced, directed and edited many critically acclaimed tv programmes and documentaries. In Australia, completed TRIUMPH OF THE NOMADS, a history of Australia prior to the arrival of the European white settlement and THE PINTUBI, a series about the last remaining tribe of Aborigines who roamed the outback of Australia up until 1935. Also completed BREAKTHROUGHS a series on the latest developments in science and medicine. Has extensive commercial and corporate experience having produced ‘high end’ corporate and commercial video material for clients such as Bord Gáis Éireann, Iarnród Éireann, Wicklow County Council, Wicklow Tourism, Wicklow Film Commission, Ardmore Film Studios, Aer Lingus, The DAA (formerly Aer Rianta), Aer Rianta International (ARI), Shannon Heritage and the (former) Shannon Development Company and numerous others. Possesses an intimate working knowledge of fund raising mechanisms for production, co-production and distribution including Screen Australia, the Irish Film Board (IFB/BSÉ), the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), RTE Commissioning and Section 481 Finance. A good team player with very good communication skills, very strong on development of programme concepts and editorial management. Recognises fully the importance of a good integrated approach from start to finish on projects. Very familiar with new and emerging digital camera, visual fx and post-production technologies.
