Projects undertaken during this course include the following:

Application and Web Development Programmed an on-line store program for collecting customer information for in

Visual Studio 2013, designed using XHML. This application accesses a database in SQL Server 2012 that stores details for customers and includes a basic page customization option.

Designed and programmed a stationery store application using Java in NetBeans. Designed and programmed a school database system using C# and SQL Server. Created a Windows App for visitors to Melbourne helping them to find places of

interest, place to eat and places to stay. The App was written in XAML with C# as the back end. The App also included a Bing Map feature.

Analysed several data structures and algorithms that are programmed in C# including dynamic data structures, sorting algorithms and searching techniques that are commonly used in computer programming. I also looked into arrays and different array methods and properties.

Database Management Built a Microsoft Access database application designed to store invoicing data. This

included design and normalisation of the database tables, and the building of all required queries, forms and reports for the application.

Project Management and the SDLC Followed the procedures of the Software Development Life Cycle to produce the

documentation required for the development of a technical support software system for a software development company. This included preparation of a project proposal, questions for the client, a project plan with Work Schedule Breakdown, requirement identification, and the creation of a process model.

Studied the factors involved in the testing phase of the software development life cycle including different types of tests that take place when a software system is developed. This includes creating unit and integration test cases with Microsoft Test Manager 2013. I also looked into software quality assurance and how to conduct a
