Diaconate Ministry

Happy 14th Anniversary to our Pastor Samuel T. Ross-Lee

Immanuel, today is a day of both celebration and thanksgiving! We celebrate joyfully with thankful hearts, that God in His wisdom has blessed our congregation over the past 14 years with the faithful and diligent service of our Pastor, Samuel T. Ross-Lee. In Jeremiah 3: 15, God’s promise is: “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. And in Paul’s writing to the church in Ephesians 4: 11 -12: “And He gave some, apostles, and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” In Pastor Lee, we have the fulfillment of these promises from the Word of God. Over the years, Pastor Lee has been faithful in his acceptance of his call to preach the Gospel to the meek, the poor, the wealthy and the afflicted. He firmly speaks, “Truth to Power” as he proclaims liberty to both the physical and spiritual captives. He has worked faithfully to guard and keep, with the greatest love, the precious and excellently adapted Truth which has been entrusted to him by the Holy Spirit. His task has not been an easy one, but we’re thankful that he has always maintained his trust in God and not given “in or out,” but has maintained the course of faithfulness to both God and this congregation. So for this we, with grateful hearts, say “Thank you Pastor Lee for your spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, and the spirit of knowledge; thank you Pastor Lee for being bold and courageous as you ought to be as you get the Gospel to the people.” We thank the Lord for the added strength, which He alone supplies to you as you serve this congregation in both the good and bad times of our circumstances. Happy 14th Anniversary, Pastor!!! - “Through it all we’ve (together) learned to trust in Jesus: Through it all we’ve (together) learned to trust in God: Through it all we’ve (together) learned to depend upon His Word!” It is our prayer on this, your 14th Anniversary, that God will continue to shield you and protect you; that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that that no tongue shall rise against you; that you prosper abundantly, physically, spiritually, and financially; that you remain faithful and true, knowing that you’re loved by God and this congrega-tion. We encourage you to stay the course and finish the race. Continue to touch lives with the Word of Truth! Thank you for your service! To God be the Glory!!!!! IBC Diaconate Ministry Deacon William A. Batts, III, Chairman Deacon Cheryl Pegues, Vice-Chairman

Leader: Give and it will be given you; good measure pressed down shaken together, running over will be put into your lap. People: For the measure you give will be the measure you get back Leader: Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal. People: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust consume and where thieves do not break in and steal.

THE COLLEGE MINISTRY will meet right after morning worship in the Adult Sunday School classroom. Anyone wishing to join us, please come. INTERGENERATIONAL CHOIR REHEARSAL The Intergenerational Choir’s first rehearsal is Thursday, October 1st at 7:30PM. IBC YOUTH GROUP The Youth Group Ministry has been busy training to build a stronger, more organized and mission-driven youth ministry at Im-manuel. Our organizing efforts have been extremely fruitful, but there is a missing link. We believe that we will have a stronger youth ministry, if we have youth leading youth. We are looking for youth or young adults 9th grade -21 years of age who are interested in being youth leaders to please see Mrs. Roxana Walker-Canton. The Youth Group will sponsor youth leadership training in the upcoming months. Please pray for our ongoing efforts to support and direct our youth as they come to understand what it means to be Called, Commanded and Commissioned.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd 6pm Youth Praise Dancers will resume rehearsals

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd 6:30pm Leadership Council meeting. ALL AUXILIARY HEADS please be present. If you are unavailable to attend, please have a representative from your auxiliary attend in your place.
