THE ORDER OF MORNING WORSHIP 12TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
10:00 AM JUNE 24, 2018
THE FIRST NOTE OF THE PRELUDE begins our worship. Please use
the prelude time to turn your attention to God’s presence and help. Nurturing our relationships and friendships in fellowship is
essential to our life as a congregation, so please continue to do so following our time of worship.
Those who are able are invited to stand.
FOCUSING UPON GOD’S PRESENCE AND VOICE
PRELUDE “What Wondrous Love Is This” APPALACHIAN FOLK HYMN Melanie Shimer, piano ARR. BY DON WYRTZEN
WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: How very good and pleasant it is when sisters and
brothers live together in unity!
People: It is like the precious oil on the head, like the dew that
falls on the mountains of Zion!
Leader: Together, let us worship God.
OPENING PRAYER
HYMN #391 “This Is the Day” ESTE ES EL DÍA
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Leader: We strive to be strong and self-sufficient, but in truth we
are in constant need of grace. In penitence and faith, let
us confess our weakness to God and to one another.
People: Most merciful God, forgive us. We imagine that we can live
without you, when you give us our very breath. We seek
control over others rather than strive to live in unity.

WHAT ABOUT HIM? Join us after worship today for a pop-up class called “What About
Saul?” We’ll meet Saul, first king of Israel, and learn his backstory: how he became king, and how he fell from grace. Join us in the brick room!
WORSHIP NEXT WEEK
Next week is Outdoor Worship at the Wildlands Conservancy (Poole Wildlife Center) at 3701 Orchid Pl, Emmaus. Our youth and adults who attended work camp will be sharing their experiences with us during worship.
From N Cedar Crest Boulevard, turn left onto Riverbend Road.
Follow Riverbend over bridge and up a small hill.
Turn right onto Orchid Place.
The entrance to Pool Wildlife Sanctuary is down the hill,
less than half a mile, on the right.
So that those present may experience God without distraction,
we ask that cell phones and other electronic devices be turned off prior to the start of worship. Thank you.
ARE YOU NEW TO FAITH CHURCH? If this is your first time in worship with us here at Faith Church,
