TODAY’S READINGS First Reading — The Jews angrily reject Paul and Barnabas’ preaching. They then turn their energies to the Gentiles (Acts 13:14, 43-52). Psalm — We are his people, the sheep of his flock (Psalm 100). Second Reading — John envisions a great white-robed multi-tude standing before the throne and before the Lamb. (Revelation 7:9, 14b-17). Gospel — My sheep hear my voice; they follow me. I give them eternal life (John 10:27-30).

Fourth Sunday of Easter April 17, 2016 “I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 13:47b

“Message from our Pastor” What does the Father say? Well, if the Word Gospel of life is directed to all the towns, you do not always find the word welcomed (first reading), but those who welcome the word are guaranteed fidelity, faithfulness and mercy from God (psalm) and the plentitude of life (second reading); the human response to the Word, the faithfulness of God is Jesus, Word incarnate, eternal life of the good shepherd (Gospel). A possible Actualization of the Word We can say that in many cultures and towns, no one awaits a gift of life. A necessary salutation or including someone that you listen to as a definitive voice for life who is worthwhile following. But, without a doubt, without that life, without that salvation and without that voice, millions of people live in complete abandonment, excluded from advanced technology, economies and even cultures, victims of these who pretend to dominate and guide whole towns. Refugees not given asylum, immigrants who do not reach their destinations. People who are deceived by a dream of a better life and are hurtled to be merchandise for the best impostor, the ill without the possibilities of care, the elderly without care at home, the young without a horizon because of the lack of opportunities, children who do not know how to play or do not have an education because of the lack of interest in the part of many adults. Many more intensely listen to this reality described in the words of the apoca-lypse “no one will endure hunger or thirst, the sun will do no harm nor will there be humidity because the Lamb….will be your shepherd and will lead you to the founts of living waters. And God will wipe away the tears in your eyes” (Apocalypse 7:17). Meanwhile, we are called to listen to God’s voice, and receive his eternal life, and remain united to Him so we may be able to arrive and be like him and the father who are one. What does the Word tell me? In this opportunity, since the resurrection of Jesus, that continues to be whom we listen to, we know that he knows us, inviting us to follow him to participate in his same manner of life. This is the moment to ask ourselves: Which are the voices that we listen to in our lives? the gossip, the one that hurts the life of the person with power, fame, ambition and success, Our own comforts, the indifference before the situation of others, given that our own surpasses theirs, of our own sentiments that re-quire a continuous attention and with them our untouchable rights? Our ways of thinking and our customs in life? The pre-tension that others have that are out of our immediate reach, the possessions that others have that are out of our immediate reach but we will do whatever is possible so that we can obtain them.? How do we respond to the Word? With all these voices, where does the voice of Jesus stay in my life? I suppose, I expect him to obtain, for me, what I can’t ob-tain for myself? Jesus only asks us to listen to his voice, to follow him, and to remain united to Him. In this listening, following and continuance we will se ourselves hurtled along all the human realities necessary for our salvation. “These are the ones who lived in great tribulation” (apocalypse 7:14) We await you at our Sunday celebration where we learn to listen to Jesus, so we can follow him and remain in him, going with one another.

Protección de los Niños El mes de abril es la campaña de proteger a los niños y a to-dos; y nos unimos con las demás parroquias del arquidiócesis para promover este mensaje. El 16 de abril los invita el comité de seguridad de la parroquia a un taller sobre como se puede manifestar el abuso en nues-tras vidas, será a las 7pm en el auditorio. Les pedimos que inviten a toda su familia y amistades. El 30 de abril será una noche de películas para pasar un tiempo sano y divertido en comunidad. Soon, St. Patrick’s Ministry of Health will be inviting the com-munity to one of these classes. Knowing CPR can help save a life.

Cuarto Domingo de Pascua 17 de abril de 2016 “Yo te he puesto como luz de los paganos, para que lleves la salvación hasta los últimos rincones de la tierra”. — Hechos 13:47b

"Mensaje de nuestro Párroco" ¿Qué dice la Palabra? Si bien la Palabra, Evangelio de vida, está destinada a todos los pueblos, no siempre encuentra buena acogida (primera lectura); pero a los que la acogen les garantiza, desde la fidelidad misericordiosa de Dios (salmo), la plenitud de la vida (segunda lectu-ra); la respuesta humana a la Palabra, a la fidelidad de Dios, es Jesús, Palabra encarnada, vida eterna, Buen Pastor (Evangelio). Una posible actualización de la Palabra Podríamos decir que, en muchas culturas y pueblos, no se espera una vida regalada, una salvación necesitada, o incluso alguien a quien escuchar como voz definitiva para la vida, a quien valga la pena seguir. Sin embargo, sin esa vida, sin esa salvación y sin esa voz, millones de personas viven en el más completo abandono, excluidos de los avances técnicos, económicos y hasta cul-turales, víctimas de los que pretenden dominar y guiar a pueblos enteros. Refugiados no acogidos, inmigrantes que no logran llegar a su destino, personas engañadas con el sueño de una vida mejor y lanzadas a ser mercadería para el mejor impostor, enfermos-as sin posibilidad de cuidado, ancianos sin el calor del hogar, jóvenes sin horizonte por falta de oportunidades, niños sin juego ni educación por falta de interés por parte de muchos adultos. Mucho más intensamente se escuchan, en esta realidad descrita, esas palabras del Apocalipsis: “Ya no pasarán hambre ni sed, no les hará daño ni el sol ni el bochorno. Porque el Cordero… será su pastor, y los conducirá hacia fuentes de aguas vivas. Y Dios enjugará las lágrimas de sus ojos” (Ap 7,17). Mientras tanto, nosotros estamos llamados a escuchar la voz de Jesús, a acoger su vida eterna, a permanecer unidos a Él para poder llegar a ser uno como El y el Padre son uno. ¿Qué me dice la Palabra? En esta oportunidad, desde Jesús Resucitado, que sigue siendo a quien escuchamos, sabiendo que él nos conoce, invitándonos a seguirlo para participar de su misma vida, es el momento de preguntarnos: ¿Cuáles son las voces que escuchamos en nuestra vida? ¿La de los chismes, la de las heridas de la vida, la de las personas con poder, fama, ambición y éxito, las de nuestra comodidad, las de la indiferencia ante las situaciones ajenas, dado que las nues-tras nos sobrepasan? ¿La de nuestros sentimientos que reclaman una continua atención y, con ellos, la de nuestros derechos intocables? ¿Las de las modas de pensamiento y costumbres de vida? ¿La de las pertenencias que otros tienen y están fuera de nuestro alcance inmediato… pero haré lo posible para tenerlas? ¿Cómo respondo a la Palabra? Con todas esas voces ¿Dónde queda la voz de Jesús en mi vida? ¿Espero quizás de él que me consiga lo que yo no puedo ob-tener? Jesús sólo nos pide que escuchemos su voz, y que le sigamos, y que permanezcamos unidos a Él. En esa escucha-seguimiento-permanencia nos veremos lanzados a todas las realidades humanas necesitadas de salvación: “Estos son los que vienen de la gran tribulación…” (Ap 7,14). Te esperamos en la celebración dominical donde aprendemos a escuchar a Jesús, para seguirlo y permanecer en Él yendo los unos hacia los otros.
