Content Passion

• I have really enjoyed the CASE curriculum. I have had “needs to work on organization” written on every evaluation I have ever had. This format guides me into being organized and efficient with my own and my students time.

• For specific topics I love the first day we are in the shop with a welder turned on. We all take a quick turn on the oxy-acetylene stations. The excitement and fear in the kids is awesome. I want to bottle that energy up for the rest of the year.

Within your subject matter, what are you passionate about teaching? In other words, of all the topics and standards you teach as part of your curriculum, which are the ones you most enjoy?

Professional Passion

• I love to see the kids encourage each other. At about year 8, I feel like I had a program that the kids had ownership in. They want the freshman to do better than they did with CDE’s. They want to get more kids involved in FFA and actually be active members.

• I never tell the kids no when they want to try a new CDE. I am very honest with them if I have no idea how to identify 30 retail meat cuts, but we will find someone who does and I will learn with them.

Within your profession, but not specific to your subject matter, what are you passionate about? What is it about being an educator that drives you? What ignites a fire inside of you?

Personal Passion

• My favorite activity outside of school is now spending time with my husband and 5 month old boy. I cannot wait until he is big enough to do all the things we enjoy to do such as riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers, camping (he already has done that), rafting, and the big one: hunting. I have a little compound bow and .22 rifle picked out for him!

• To go along with hunting, we process all of our own meat. We set-up our wedding registry at Cabela’s so we could buy all the equipment (grinder, cutting boards, sausage stuffer, scale, etc.) We also had the usual Bed, Bath, & Beyond, but Cabela’s was much better!

Completely outside of your profession, what are you passionate about?
